Practitioner Speaks at Washington, DC Rally: "Help End Torture in China -- Support US Resolution at UN in Geneva"

(Clearwisdom.net) I step forward today to speak for myself, to speak for tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners in the U.S., and to speak for tens of millions of voiceless Falun Gong practitioners and their family members in China, who have been violently deprived of basic human rights and freedom of belief. We urge our U.S. Government to listen to the heart-felt voices of American people: the recently-passed Congressional Resolution No. 530, and listen to those being persecuted in China and harassed on American soil. We urge you to make the best efforts to lead in passing a similar Resolution in the United Nations this month to condemn China's violations of human rights and to help end torture in China.

Another year has passed, the persecution of Falun Gong, because of their belief of "Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance", launched by the dictator Jiang Zemin five years ago, has neither stopped nor alleviated. Rather, it becomes increasingly brutal, increasingly evil, and increasingly covered-up. Mr. Gang Chen, a Falun Gong practitioner victimized for 18 months in labor camp, has just testified the evilness and brutality of Jiang's regime. He is not the only one, nor even a special one. Millions of Falun Gong practitioners suffered similar tortures or even worse. Since you here have already heard his testimony, I don't need to elaborate it any more here.

As of today, millions of practitioners' families were broken up (or seriously distorted), became homeless, and faced with hardship. Hundreds of thousands of practitioners have been detained or imprisoned in forced labor camps or jails just like Mr. Chen, and are suffering now. More than 930 confirmed deaths from torture by police have been reported to date; the true number is undoubtedly much greater, 10 times greater. That is to say, an average of 6 or 7 people are tortured to death, each and every day. During this two-hour Rally, for instance, another fellow Falun Gong practitioner will have sacrificed the precious life for the freedom of belief and conscience of humanity.

Through the efforts of truth clarification and peaceful anti-persecution inside and outside of China in the last four years, more and more people in China and in the world have learned about the truth and realized that the suffering and sacrifice of Falun Gong practitioners is not just for themselves, but also for the conscience and the benefit of humanity. People are now making the choice in their heart and many have taken action to step forward for this noble cause and for their goodness' sake. We firmly believe that, very soon, there will be a country-wide movement in China for the whole population to rise, to ask for the freedom of conscience/belief, and to oppose any persecution rendered on them.

We call out today to the U.S. Government, and to the good people, organizations, and governments in the world to open their eyes to clearly see the real situation of Falun Gong, to see this horrific persecution in China, and to bravely follow their conscience to act. Never rationalize China's persecution of Falun Gong as a reaction to feeling threatened and never try to give justification or excuse to Jiang Regime's brutality and evil. Facing this systematic, state-sanctioned, severe human rights violation, the only proper action is to condemn it and act to put an immediate end to it.
