Stories from China: Dafa Resolves Hatred Giving Inmate New Life

(Clearwisdom.net) Before June 20, 1997, an inmate in prison was full of hatred towards society, and planned to take revenge against the judicial department.

Then he met a prison staff member who practices Falun Gong. Gradually the prisoner learned the profundity of Falun Dafa. He was amazed that there could be such a wonderful righteous practice and that there could be a teacher that could teach people to be so kindhearted.

After that, he changed dramatically. He used to fight with others a lot, but he began to consider others first in everything he did. In the past, when he worked in the factory, he stole metal parts to sell for profit. Later on, even when prison staff dropped him hints to steal metal so they could sell it for him, he still did not do it. Other inmates were surprised by his changes and admired his new behavior.

Recently he used fifty yuan (1) of his own money to help pay for truth-clarification material. He had saved that money penny by penny over the years. He said, "Print more truth-clarifying materials so that those who are cheated can know the truth. Even a bad person like me can change. Who else can not be saved?" Again, he said, "Although I am in prison, tall walls and electric wires cannot detain my mind. I already have a new life and am on the way to return to my true self."

People Who Began Practicing Falun Dafa in Prison

More than ten thousand practitioners have been imprisoned in a detention center in a certain city. I met a few lucky people who learned Falun Dafa in prison.

Pinpin, a seventeen-year-old young lady from Henan, learned Falun Dafa in the detention center in 2000. She studied the teachings and did the exercises every day with the practitioners in the detention center. She can recite "Lunyu" (2), the book Hongyin and many of Teacher's articles. During the first trial in the court, she was asked to say something. She said loudly, "I practice Falun Dafa now. I will be a practitioner with firm belief...." Everybody was shocked and admired her. Prison police were furious. Returning from the court, Pinpin was sent directly to the detention center head officer's office. She was scolded badly by the head officer. She was handcuffed on her back and forced to stand for seven days. To stop her from practicing, the prison police scolded her many times and moved her to different cells several times. Every time she moved, she spread the truth about Falun Dafa to a new cell.

Protected by Teacher, Pinpin has been able to keep a precious pocket-sized version of Essential for Further Advancement and Zhuan Falun. In the municipal detention center, inmates in a cell often meditate, recite Hongyin, and study the teachings.
