(Clearwisdom.net) To celebrate the twelfth anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction, Falun Gong practitioners in Taipei held a "Heaven and Earth Celebrate Together" Garden Party on May 9, 2004 on a square between Taiwan University's stadium and Drunken Moon Pond. There were over 70 booths, including one displaying information on ancient culture, a snack booth, free Chinese and Western medicine health consultations, as well as photography and fine arts displays. A concert and exercise demonstrations were also held, and there was a special calligraphy contest entitled, "Righteous heart, righteous will."

Mr. Chang Ching-hsi, Director of the Falun Dafa Association of Taiwan and Professor of Economics at National Taiwan University, said that there were about 300,000 Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan. Because May 9 was also Mother's Day, he discussed that many women had experienced significant health improvement in both mind and body, and that they felt younger and energized upon practicing Falun Dafa. Thus on Mother's Day, the practitioners wished to share the practice with all mothers. Professor Chang said that the Falun Gong meditation is beneficial both in stress relief and in helping one obtain a peaceful mind.

The Best Present to Mothers: Falun Dafa

Mother's Day was a beautiful day. Many people came to the square with their mothers. A mother and daughter, both Dafa practitioners, who had gotten lost on the campus of Taiwan University, stopped and asked a student for directions to the Garden Party. The student accompanied them to the party and asked curiously on the way, "What is Falun Gong'" The daughter said with a smile, while pointing to her mother, "Guess how old my mom is'" The student said she was in her 50s. The daughter told her, "My mom is over 70 years old. She had many illnesses before, especially arthritis. After she started practicing Falun Gong, she recovered completely. Falun Gong is a practice system for improvement of both mind and body."

So many women have become healthy after practicing Falun Gong. It is the best present one could present to mothers!

Several dozen historical photographs were displayed, chronicling the spread of Falun Dafa worldwide, beginning in 1992 with its introduction in China. In the photography booth, photos of Falun Gong practitioners' recent activities were also shown, including group practice, parades, the bike ride around the island, and the large-scale group exercise practice by ten thousand practitioners in front of the President's Office, related to the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin.

In the fine arts booth, artwork made by Falun Gong practitioners was shown, including landscape and portrait paintings. A large canvas displayed a practitioner in meditation in the center, and scenes of torture in the four corners. The canvas showed that such a peaceful practice was being brutally persecuted in China and expressed the hope that the persecution would end soon.

Music and dance features were held many times throughout the daylong event. Many passers-by stopped and listened. The concert included performances on the violin, a piano solo, a Guzheng solo, a vocal solo and a chorus.
