Wen Huiying, a Retired Worker in Changde City, Hunan Province Recounts the Brutal Persecution She Has Suffered
By Wen Huiying
(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Wen Huiying. I'm a retired worker from the
Taoyuan County Shipping Company in Changde
City, Hunan Province. Because I believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, I
was unjustly and brutally persecuted by Jiang's regime. I have been arrested and
detained many times since the persecution of Falun Dafa began on July 20, 1999.
Twice I was sentenced to a forced labor camp. Now I am homeless and have to move
from one place to another in order to escape the persecution. 1. Falun Dafa is Experiencing the Greatest Injustice of All Time I had numerous illnesses before I practiced Falun Dafa. These included brain
arteriosclerosis, asthma, uterine cysts, irregular heartbeat, duodenum
inflammation, stomach disease, ice-cold limbs, and pain. I was tormented by
these conditions for many years. I learned about Falun Dafa by chance, and was fortunate enough to get on the
path of Falun Dafa cultivation. Through studying the books and practicing the
exercises I have improved my mind-heart nature and moral character and
eliminated my illnesses. Consequently, I am free of illness and my health has
been restored. Out of his jealousy, Jiang Zemin began a full-scale suppression of Falun Gong
on July 20, 1999. Since then, different levels of government and various
agencies forbid us from going to the park or even practicing at home. They
forbid us to study Falun Dafa books and have forced us to turn in our books.
They unjustly deprive us of the right to become good people and to foster good
physical and mental health. 2. Persecuted for Remaining Steadfast in My Belief and Clarifying the Truth In order to create an environment to freely study the teachings of Falun Gong
and to practice the exercises, Falun Dafa practitioners have taken the path of
Fa-rectification [clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution
to the world's people]. Below are my Fa-rectification experiences and an
account of the persecution I have suffered during the past five years. A. Why Did I Go to Beijing to Appeal? One night in January 2000, I studied a Falun Gong book at home with about a
dozen Falun Dafa practitioners. As a result, we were arrested by policemen from
the Political Security Section of the Taoyuan County Police Station and the
Zhangjiang Town Police Station. We were illegally detained in different
detention centers. I was detained for twenty-six days and my family members were
extorted of three thousand Yuan (1). After being arrested, out of compassion we
clarified the truth to the police and explained to them that we cultivated
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" to become good people, which is not
wrong. They said that it was the Central Government's decision to suppress
Falun Gong and that they were just carrying out their orders. After I was
released, I again went to my supervisors and the County Political Law Committee,
all of whom said that they were just carrying out their supervisors' orders, and
there was nothing they could do. Because I reflected the situation to
supervising officials, the County started pressuring me and my family. The
County Economic Committee, the County Traffic Bureau, the Shipping Company, and
China Unicom (my husband's employer) all worked to cause me to denounce my
belief. They also sent for my husband so he could express his position in the
matter, and they pressured him as well. Since the local authorities did not
allow me to speak out, I had no choice but to go to Beijing to appeal and tell
the leaders in the central government that it is wrong to suppress Falun Gong. B. Going to Beijing Twice to Appeal On July 19, 2000, fellow practitioner Liu Dongxian (a doctor in the Taoyuan
County Red Cross Hospital) and I went to Beijing to appeal. However, before we
even reached Yoyang City in Hunan Province, we were questioned and monitored by
the police. As soon as we arrived at the Beijing West Station, we were sent to
the Hunan Province Changde City Liaison Office in Beijing. The next day, we were
handcuffed and extradited back to the County Detention Center. The one-thousand
Yuan we had with us was confiscated. I was transferred to a detention center
where I was held for a month. After I returned home, I was under constant
surveillance. Before New Year's Day in 2000, fearing that I might go to Beijing to appeal,
the authorities tricked me into leaving my home and sent me to the Changde Drug
Rehabilitation Center, where I was detained with fifty to sixty Falun Dafa
practitioners. I held a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. I was on
the verge of dying before being released. After returning home, fellow
practitioner Liu Dongxian and I again went to Beijing to appeal. We were
arrested in Beijing and detained in the Bejing Haidian District Detention Center
on New Year's Eve. That night, the policemen shocked us with electric batons and
the inmates beat and kicked us. They grabbed us by our hair and threw us against
the wall. We were stripped naked and had cold water poured over our bodies. On the second day, personnel from the Hunan Province Changde City Liaison
Office in Beijing took us away. On the third day, supervisors from the Taoyuan
County Red Cross and my work unit, along with my brother (who was there on the
request of my work unit's supervisor to pay them ten thousand Yuan from my
family), came with handcuffs and again extradited me back to the County
Detention Center. We held a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. On
the eighth day of our hunger strike, the Detention Center sent us to the Red
Cross Hospital for intravenous infusions. They sent me home, only because I
continued my hunger strike without water. Personnel from the police station and
my work unit kept me under constant surveillance. After I recovered somewhat
from the hunger strike after a week at home, I was again taken back to the
detention center. I continued my hunger strike and they again sent me home and
put me under twenty-four-hour surveillance. A week later they sent me to the
Zhuzhou Baimalong Female Forced Labor Camp. C. Barbaric Forced-Feeding at the Zhuzhou Baimalong Female Forced Labor Camp The Zhuzhou Baimalong Female Forced Labor Camp is a living hell. Since 2000,
they have mobilized armed policemen, special police squads, and many
disciplinary policemen and inmates to use all means to persecute Falun Dafa
practitioners. They mainly used the so-called "exhaustion tactic" by
alternating Falun Gong practitioners between persecution by the
"Transformation Team," the "Strict Discipline Team," the
"Steadfast Team," the "Production Team" and the "Closed
and Isolated Team." By June 2000, when they saw that Falun Dafa practitioners refused to yield to
them, the authorities decided to escalate the persecution. Director Zhao from
the Provincial Forced Labor Camp personally took the post of Assistant Director
of the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp. Zhao Guibao and instructor Ding Cailan had
organized and formed a team to brutally persecute Falun Dafa practitioners--the
so-called "Fortified Fight Team," which was led by a team leader named
Zheng Xia. From then on, the persecution continually escalated. Over the course
of four years, in this labor camp six Falun Dafa practitioners were killed by
the persecution, many have been maimed, and thousands of practitioners have been
subjected to severe mental and physical abuse. The persecution imposed on me included the following: Sleep deprivation,
making me stand for long periods of time, handcuffing, severe beatings and
kicking, shocking my lips and legs with electric batons, making me sit on a
small board for prolonged periods of time, force-feeding me salt water, cold
water, or rice gruel using a bamboo tube or a leather nose tube. They
barbarically force-fed us, not for the sake of preserving life, but to abuse and
even murder Falun Dafa practitioners. I lost two teeth because they pried open
my mouth open to force-feed me. In March of 2003, Falun Dafa practitioners held
a group hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. Practitioners were
brutally force-fed on the floor as punishment. Zho Shuchun, a practitioner from
Changsha City, died on the spot from the brutal force-feeding. Afterwards, the
authorities spread a rumor claiming that she died from an illness. When I was on a hunger strike to protest my illegal detention, I was
subjected to force-feeding twice a day. It was always carried out by seven to
eight special task force police officers (both male and female) and inmates who
were drug addicts. They forced me onto the floor or handcuffed me to a bed.
Then, they pinched my nose tightly and pried open my mouth--that's how I lost my
teeth. They inserted a bamboo tube which was six to seven inches long and one
inch wide down my throat. They filled it from a disposable plastic bag with rice
gruel and emptied the entire contents into the tube. My nosed was pinched so
tightly that I could not breathe, which caused my chest to tighten, and with
dizziness, numbness, and weak limbs, I felt that I was about to die. I remember
once in August 2001, a policewoman, Fang (given name not known, only 18 at the
time), fastened my limbs tightly with belts to a bed and force-fed me
concentrated salt water, rice gruel, and cold water. She fed me seven cups in a
row. The liquid kept spilling out, yet she still kept pouring more in. She said,
"I intend to make you suffer." I was not allowed to use the restroom,
and I suffered with my body full of salt water and rice gruel, and my bladder
full of urine. One time in November 2002, in the Zhuzhou Chemical Engineering Plant Hospital
(Baimalong Forced Labor Camp's designated hospital), special forces policeman
Pan (given name not known), the Chief Nurse, and drug-addict inmates used a
leather tube inserted into my nose to force-feed me. They tied my limbs to a bed
and immobilized me in order to insert the tube, which caused me to bleed
profusely. They wouldn't stop, even after making eight attempts. They said,
"We must get this done. Let's see if you are tougher than we are!"
They inserted the tube nine times in a row and I continued to bleed profusely.
At 3:00 p.m. they again continued their efforts. That's how I was persecuted at
the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp for one year and nine months. I suffered inhuman torture day and night. It wasn't until I was in critical
condition that the forced labor camp notified my family to go through the
procedure to pick me up. They did this because they were afraid to take the
responsibility for my death. My family took the release notice with them to the
Taoyuan County "610 Office" (2) to sign some paperwork. However, the
"610 Office" refused to let them take me home. Instead, they told them
to go to my work unit to pay some money. It wasn't until my family went to both
my work unit to pay them three thousand Yuan, and then to the Baimalong Forced
Labor Camp to pay two thousand Yuan, that they were able to take me home on
November 22, 2002. D. My Husband was Unjustly Detained and I was Again Sentenced to Forced Labor On March 25, 2003, I was tipped off, while distributing truth-clarification
materials, that Wen Chengguang and others from the National Security Section of
the Taoyuan Police Station were following me. The next day I was arrested while
distributing truth-clarification materials. My husband was also arrested at the
same time, without cause. After beating and kicking us, they forced us into a
car and drove us to the detention center. They tried to get a statement from my
husband, and forced him to admit that he distributed the materials. My husband
did not practice Falun Dafa and was not aware that I distributed
truth-clarification materials. The policemen then extorted one thousand Yuan
from him without even giving him a receipt. I was detained there for further
investigation. To forcibly obtain a statement from me, Wen Chengguang poured
cold water all over me, then stepped on my bare feet with his leather boots,
which caused my toenails to be ripped out. On the seventh day of my hunger
strike to protest the illegal detention, I was in critical condition, so they
released me and sent me home. In April 2003, they again illegally sentenced me
to one and a half years of forced labor in the Zhuzhou Baimalong Forced Labor
Camp. My physical exam indicated that I had heart disease and a degenerated
liver, therefore the forced labor camp refused to take me in. The authorities
then detained me at the County Detention Center. They released me after I went
on a hunger strike for three days. My days were not peaceful after I returned home. The Chief of the Taoyuan
"610 Office," Zhou Guicheng, and Zheng Yunqing from the same office,
the Chief of the National Security Section in the Taoyuan Police Station, Wen
Chengguang, a Luo from the Traffic Department, and Chen Yuanjiang from the
Shipping Company came to "talk" to me from time to time, putting
pressure on me to renounce my belief. The County National Security Office also
put me under constant surveillance. Sometimes they barged into my home at
midnight to harass me, causing chaos in my home and also disrupting the peace in
the employee dormitory for the Taoyuan County Postal Office, where my apartment
is located. E. Subjected to Force-Feeding Again in a Brainwashing Class in Changde City At 7:00 a.m. on November 20, 2003, the Chief of the Taoyuan "610
Office," Zhou Guicheng, along with Zheng Yunqing from the same office, and
Chen Yunjiang from my work unit, sent me against my will to a brainwashing class
in Changde City. The brainwashing class was conducted by the Changde City
Political Law Committee and the "610 Office." While I was there, they
did not allow me to sleep or sit down. They forced me to stand for long periods
of time. I held a hunger strike to protest. They responded by force-feeding me.
Every time they fed me, they had to use a dozen people to pinch my nose, pry
open my mouth, and tie me down. Someone also pushed his body against my legs to
prevent me from moving. They forced the top of a plastic bottle into my mouth
and punched a hole on the bottom of the bottle. They first put the
"ten-drop liquid" (a drug to treat nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain,
diarrhea and gastro-intestinal diseases) into the bottle, followed by rice
gruel. One time they force-fed me four bottles of "ten-drop liquid,"
which exceeded the normal dosage by three times. They claimed that it was good
for the stomach and good for me. I was tortured to the point of death, yet they
still would not release me. They insisted on detaining me for the designated
period of one month, plus two extra days, after which time they released me.
Later I found out that the reason that they made such a great effort to
persecute me was because my employer had given the "brainwashing
class" several thousand Yuan as an incentive to "reform" me. F. Eventually Forced to Leave Home for Remaining Steadfast in Falun Gong On the morning of April 20, 2004, while going home, I ran into Zhou Guicheng
and Zheng Yunqing from the County "610 Office," two policemen from the
County Police Station's National Security Section, and Chen Yunjiang from my
work unit, all of whom had waited for me in the employee dormitory of the
Taoyuan County Postal Office. At that time I yelled loudly, "Falun Dafa is
good! Practicing cultivation is not a sin! Restore my Teacher's name!" I
clarified the truth to the bystanders. Zheng Yunqing was so furious that he
slapped me on the face. Another policeman tied my hands behind my back. The
crowd of people could not bear to see it and stepped forward to stop them. These
perpetrators then hit me, dragged me into a car, and drove me to the detention
center. I held a hunger strike to protest and was released on the third day
using righteous thoughts. Now, I am unable to go home. I have been moving from
one place to another to avoid being persecuted and arrested. At home, I have an
eighty-year-old father-in-law who needs my care. My husband has several
dislocated vertebrae and has problems taking care of himself. My son is working
out of town and my family needs my care. But I'm forced to drift from one place
to another and cannot return home. Several of the persecutors' names in Taoyuan County, Hunan Province: Notes: (1) Yuan is the Chinese currency. The average monthly salary of an urban
worker in China is 500 Yuan. (2) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to
persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in
the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
