My Husband Openly Opposed the Police for Persecuting Me

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Dafa practitioner from Jinzhou City, 53-years-old, retired. Before I started cultivation, I had trouble with my back. I also suffered from insomnia, migraines, dizziness, low blood pressure, serious depression and other maladies. I spent a lot of money on medication, to no avail. One day, my husband told me to take a walk. So I went to a nearby park where I live. I saw that there were many people who were doing something new. A lady smiling at me asked if I wanted to learn Falun Gong. I in turn asked, "Can I practice if I am sick?" she said, "Absolutely. You are welcome to come and learn it. We don't charge you a penny."

On May 11, 1997, I started walking on the path of cultivation. While studying the Fa and doing the exercises, I strictly held myself to the standards of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Gradually, all my diseases disappeared. I truly experienced the feeling of being light, free of diseases. I did all the household chores for my family of five. I respected my in-laws. I was more considerate of them, and my relationship with my relatives and friends became harmonized.

However, on July 20, 1999, a gang of rogues led by Jiang started persecuting Falun Gong. On April 2002, when I was handing out truth-clarification materials, the police illegally detained me. I steadfastly believe in Dafa and Teacher. When my husband came to visit me, the police told him, holding notes from my interrogation in their hands, "Well, she wouldn't say a word. We cannot let you see her." My husband said, "What's the matter with doing the exercises? If someone in your family was detained, how would you feel about that?" The police didn't know what to answer. Instead he stared at my husband blankly, and they allowed him to see me.

On seeing me, the first few sentences he said in front of the police were, "If you hand out flyers at 8 in the morning, they catch you. So hand them out at noon, then. If they catch you at night, hand them out at midnight. You were not careful enough, so they caught you. By the way, from now on, please make the signs you put up on the streets larger so more people can see." When I was not there, my husband also said to the police, "I have read Zhuan Falun. The book teaches people to be good. What's wrong with practicing "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance"? In the past, I took her everywhere around Jinzhou City to see doctors, I was exhausted. After she started practicing Falun Gong, all her diseases were healed. She not only took care of my parents, but also treated them very well. So tell me, what's wrong with this practice?!" He also told the police not to harm good people. When hearing these words, the police did not say a word.

Under the evil persecution, I demonstrated twitching and other symptoms. The police didn't notify my family, instead they even cursed me. When my condition did not improve, they sent me to the hospital. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, heart disease and other diseases (I never had these diseases before). They told me I was very likely to have permanent heart damage. However, the police still wanted to take me back to the detention center. My police tried to extort money from my family, so they negotiated with the police, telling them, "We do not want her. You can take her back. However, you are fully responsible for any consequences if anything bad happens to her." Seeing my family's stand, the police did not take me back to the detention center. After my family's repeated attempts to have me released, I finally was allowed to go home.

I would like to say the following to the family members of Dafa practitioners: Every family benefits from having a practitioner among them to a different extent. If your family suffers persecution while one of its members is cultivating to be a good person, you should not obey those who persecute you. Please be sure to speak out for your personal rights and oppose the persecution.
