Radio Free Asia Reports on Falun Gong Practitioners' Peaceful Appeal During Wen Jiabao's Visit to Germany (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) On May 2, 2004, Chinese Premier Minister Wen Jiabao arrived
in Germany for a state visit. Falun Gong practitioners once again displayed
banners to welcome Wen Jiabao after Wen's state visit to the United States last
December. In the meantime, practitioners asked to bring the perpetrators in the
persecution of Falun Gong including Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou
Yongkang to justice. According to Radio Free Asia's report on May 3, Falun Gong practitioners and
German human rights organizations simultaneously held rallies and appeals at
different places in downtown Berlin on May 3. The report quoted one of the organizers of these activities, Ms Zheng Zhihong,
a scholar in the field of Chinese law, "Our activities will last two days.
Today, because Premier Wen Jiabao will meet with German Chancellor Gerhard
Schroeder, we are now at the plaza close to the Chancellery in Berlin. Today's
activity will start from 2 pm and end at 9:30 pm." Ms. Zheng continued, "Tomorrow we will hold a day long appeal near the Adilon
Hotel where Wen Jiabao stays. The appeal will begin at 8 am and will last until
10 pm. In the evening we will hold a candlelight vigil. We will also go to the
Chinese Embassy to appeal."
