Austria: Grand Parade through the Center of Vienna (Photos)


(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday the 19th of June, Dafa practitioners from Europe and the Asia Pacific region held a grand parade through the crowded city center of Vienna. Many people lined the streets to view the beautiful and varied parade performances. The procession was lead by a waist drum team followed by traditional Chinese Fan Dancers and Lotus Flower Dancers. Falun Gong practitioners hoped to share the beauty and wonder of Falun Gong and traditional Chinese culture with the people of Vienna. Coming from over 30 countries, the practitioners wanted to demonstrate the wide spreading of Falun Gong to over 60 countries around the world, so many practitioners wore traditional national costumes from their own countries.

People throughout the city saw the crowds of colourful eye-catching banners with messages such as "Falun Dafa is Great" and "Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice for Genocide". The practitioners hoped to let people know more about the practice of Falun Gong and the campaign of Genocide that former Chinese leader Jiang instigated in China against 100 million innocent Falun Gong practitioners. As more people learn about his horrific violations of human rights it is becoming obvious that Jiang must be brought to justice in a court of law for crimes against humanity. Lawsuits have already been filed in countries all over Europe, as well as America, Australia, South Korea and Taiwan. Many people in Vienna with a sense of justice offered messages of support and encouragement to the practitioners.

The parade featured a Falun Gong exercise demonstration on a small truck, which created a stark contrast with another truck demonstrating some of the torture methods that have been employed to force practitioners to give up their beliefs in China. Many people were shocked that such barbaric and inhumane torture still exists in the world today. The last feature of the parade was a formation of female practitioners dressed in white carrying pictures of the 982 people who practise Falun Gong in China and have been killed in the persecution. Due to the tight information blockade employed by Jiang Zemin to hide his shameful crimes, the news of many deaths has not yet reached the outside world and the true figure is estimated to be closer to 10,000.
