Dafa Practitioner Zhang Shengqi from Baishan City, Jilin Province, Dies After Being Subjected to Torture in the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp

Mr. Zhang Shengqi was a 35-year-old Dafa practititioner who formerly lived at 24th bystreet, Xishan Street, Lushuihe Town, Baishan City, Jilin Province.

On February 10, 2001, authorities from the Lushuihe Town Public Security Bureau took Zhang Shengqi away, brutally tortured him, and then sent him to the Fusong County Detention Center for illegal detention. In April of the same year, he was transferred to the Baishan City Forced Labor Camp. Because he refused to renounce his belief, the guards often brutally tortured him. Later he was transferred to the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp in Changchun City. He suffered all kinds of cruel torture and was persecuted by the authorities there to force him to renounce his belief in Falun Dafa. As a result of the abuse he suffered, he became emaciated. In March 2002, he was released on medical parole to his family members care but died on February 26, 2004.
