Practitioner Rao Mianhua from Wuxue City, Hubei Province Tortured to Disability - Authorities Shirk Responsibility

(Clearwisdom.net) In Jiangjialin Village, Wuxue City, Hubei Province, there is a 40-year-old disabled woman who is often carried on a tricycle by her relatives. She travels between Wuxue Public Security Bureau, the "610 Office" (1) and the village committee to beg for her living expenses. Her name is Rao Mianhua. Over the past two years she has been revealing how Jiang's regime mobilizes the national propaganda machine to slander Falun Gong and its founder, and how the "610 Office" has committed crimes, including brutally torturing Falun Gong practitioners.

Rao Mianhua used to suffer many complications after induced labor. She would often go to village officials for compensation for her medical bills. Since she started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, all of her health problems were cured. She was considered one of the strongest people in the village. Practicing Falun Dafa saved her a lot of medical expense and her family's life has become harmonious since.

After Jiang's regime started the persecution of Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999, she persisted her belief in "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance" and appealed in Beijing, requesting the government restore the good reputation of Falun Dafa and its founder. Consequently, she was twice detained by the "610 Office" and the public security bureau in Wuxue City in 2000 and 2001, respectively. Furthermore, she was sent to the Shizishan Labor Camp in Wuhan City, Hubei Province where she suffered inhumane torture. There she was often insulted and beaten up by criminal inmates. Police would shock her using high-voltage electric batons. In the extremely hot summer when the temperature often reached 104^o F, police forced practitioners to undergo military training and pose in military positions in the hot sun. Practitioners had to practice parade steps with only one foot supporting the body. If one failed, she would be beaten up. They were prohibited to drink water or use the toilet. Under such torture, Rao Mianhua gradually lost feeling in her legs. She often sweat profusely, her whole body was numb and she lost her eyesight. Finally the police had to send her home in order to avoid being held responsible for her condition. By then she was already paralyzed and had to lie in bed.

However, the power of Dafa is restoring her and she has begun to walk with support. Now she can stand up without support and her eyesight is also gradually recovering, although it will still take a while before she will be completely recovered. Local villagers said: "She is recovering, thanks to Falun Gong. Otherwise, she would be dead."

After she was sent home, police from Kanjiang Police Station repeatedly harassed her. Having lost the means to support herself financially, Rao Mianhua was forced to ask her mother to take her by tricycle to the public security bureau to beg for living expenses. In order to shift responsibility, the public security bureau sent her to the "610 Office," which in turn sent her to the village committee and no one would take the responsibility. Following the principle of "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance," Rao Mianhua has been clarifying the truth with a calm heart to her villagers, officials and police who harassed her. She did not resent them, but instead she hoped that they would stop the persecution and make up for what they have done wrong.
