Dazhu County, Sichuan Province: Over 70 Teachers Dismissed from Their Jobs Because They Practice Falun Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net) In 2003 over 70 teachers, who admitted to being Falun Dafa practitioners were dismissed from their jobs in Dazhu County, Sichuan Province.

On February 20, 2003, Ms. He Dacui, 53-years old, told her students that the universal principle of, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" is good and that Falun Dafa is good. Chen Daijun, a villager from the Zhongxin Village who did not know the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa, reported her to the authorities. Ms. He Dacui was later arrested by Li Yuexue, head of the County's "610 Office" (1), and Li Xianhua, head of the County's National Security Team. She was then taken to the Dazhu County First Detention Center where she was brutally tortured to force her to renounce her belief.

On August 8, 2003, after Ms He Dacui was illegally detained for over 50 days, Chen Zhongjun and individuals working with him from the Dazhu County Court secretly sentenced her to five-years in prison under the fabricated charge of, "obstruction of justice." Currently Ms. He is imprisoned in the Longquanyi Prison in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province.

Later, Li Yuexue, head of the County's "610 Office," together with Huang Shengguo, the County's Party Secretary responsible for the persecution Falun Gong practitioners, and Yuan Xiaofan, head of the Education Bureau, dismissed all the teachers who admitted they practice Falun Dafa in Dazhu County's education system from their posts. In total, 70 teachers were dismissed because of their personal belief.

During the second semester in 2003, Li Yuexue threatened the teachers with "suspension or dismissal from their posts" and forced the 70 teachers who practice Falun Dafa to attend a government brainwashing program. He told them that they could not return to teaching until they completed the brainwashing program and renounced their belief in Falun Dafa.

Most of the 70 teachers are from Zhangjia County, Zhubei County, Qinghe County, Yangjia County and Huangjia County, etc. They all possess outstanding abilities, integrity, excellent academic credentials and teaching skills. They are the backbone of the education system. Teaching resources are extremely scarce in rural China, as not many people are willing to live in the remote rural villages and teach in the schools. It is even harder to get excellent teachers who can easily get well paying jobs in larger cities. Yet so many excellent teachers are now being forced to do menial jobs like admitting visitors at the gate, cleaning dormitories, janitorial work, kitchen help, etc. The students and their parents are the ones that have suffered for more than a year while these teachers are not permitted to teach the students because they live according to the principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" and practice Falun Dafa.
