North Carolina: A Falun Gong Practitioner from Charlotte Clarifies the Truth in a Local High School (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Xia Qiongfen, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Charlotte, North Carolina went to a local high school, McLeod High, on June 1 and addressed all of the students and teachers for over an hour and a half about Falun Dafa and the persecution of Dafa in China. The purpose was to help them understand Falun Dafa and awaken their sense of justice.

The event came about when a woman, Ms. Beverly Mickey, went to a Chinese restaurant and saw a painting on the wall. She asked with curiosity who the painter was and what the Chinese words on the painting meant. When she learned that the banner read, "Falun Dafa is Great," she was very moved. She immediately invited the painter to come to the school where she taught, to talk about Chinese culture, the current status of the Chinese ruling party, and Falun Gong.

This is a very small high school which has only about 20 students. Each student has a complicated background and a very troubled past. When Ms. Xia started her speech, some students slept under their desks, while others were indifferent and kept yawning.

Ms. Xia talked about how the elegant and highly developed Chinese culture was almost destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, the June 4 student movement and the Chinese government's lie that "No one died on Tiananmen Square." She discussed the persecution of Falun Gong, and the Chinese government's deceptive lies to poison the people, as well as the lawsuits filed in a number of countries against Jiang, the chief perpetrator of the persecution. When talking about the brutal persecution experienced by Falun Gong practitioners in China, the students were no longer sleepy. They felt indignation at the injustice, and started asking questions. They became eager to learn more about Falun Gong and it appeared that they started understanding the significance of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance in one's life. It seemed that Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance brought a light to them to solve their own problems and provided them with guidance in their future.

Then the practitioner talked about her own experience of going to Tiananmen Square in 2002 with more than 100 western Falun Gong practitioners to unfurl a banner, but that she was consequently persecuted in China. Her courage deeply touched the students. In the end, she taught the students the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. The exercise instruction was the high point of the seminar. All the students and teachers participated. Even the students who slept under the desks got up and eagerly learned to cross their legs and do the exercises.

At that moment, the entire classroom was serene and peaceful. From the serene expression of these students, one could no longer see their complicated and troubled past. It was the power of Dafa that allowed them to obtain the most important thing in their life, for which they have been waiting.
