Philadelphia, U.S.A.: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in Independence Day Celebration (Photos)


(Clearwisdom.net) As the city where the U.S. Declaration of Independence was signed, Philadelphia held various celebration activities for 8 days to celebrate the 228th anniversary of U.S. independence. Falun Gong practitioners in the greater Philadelphia area were invited to participate in many of the celebratory events.

Invited as representatives of Chinese culture, at 8:30 p.m. on June 28, one hour before the movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" was played in Jefferson Park, practitioners performed the Lion Dance, Waist Drum , Fan Dance and demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. As one of the 8-day celebration events, many nearby residents came to watch the show.

At 6 p.m. on June 30, many artistic programs were staged in downtown Philadelphia, which attracted many tourists. Chinese cultural activities and performances were part of the program for the first time. Practitioners' unique waist drum and fan dance performance won warm applause from the audience. At the end, accompanied by the serene exercise music, practitioners demonstrated the peaceful Falun Gong exercises, providing the crowd a precious moment of serenity. Many people tried to follow the practitioners doing the exercises during the demonstration and asked how they could learn Falun Gong after the performance.
