Commentary: Violence Only Strengthens Righteous Belief and Accelerates Perpetrators' Self-Destruction (Warning: Graphic Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) For her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and
Forbearance, Ms. Gao Rongrong of Shenyang was shocked by electric baton for
near 7 hours by Longshan Labor Camp's guards and a large portion of her facial
skin was consequently severely burned. According to a Clearwisdom Net report on May 7, 2004, Shenyang Falun Gong
practitioner Gao Rongrong, 36, was called to the guards' office by Tang Yubao,
deputy director of the 2nd major brigade of Langshan Labor Camp, and
Jiang Zhaohua, a subdivision leader. She was handcuffed to a caliduct and
subject to torture. From 3 p.m. to after 9 p.m., Tang and Jiang continuously
shocked Gao with electric batons for near 7 hours. Her face soon swelled to
such an extent that her eyes could nearly open. Her face was covered with
blisters and blood; her cellmates couldn't even recognize her. Comparing Ms. Gao's photos before and after the incident, I believe that
everyone with a sense of justice would be shocked by the brutality of Jiang's
state terrorism. One may imagine: During the 7 hours, in order to force Ms. Gao
to give up Falun Gong, the guards used tortures of extreme brutality. From her
photo after the incident, we can see how brutal the guards were and their
intention was to let the victim suffer for the rest of her life. Reportedly, Li Fengshi, director of Longshan Labor Camp, told Gao Rongrong:
"This is an autocratic institution; we won't be relenting in the use of
handcuffs and electric batons. I don't believe we can't convert you." We have
to acknowledge that the perpetrators indeed have mighty resources: handcuffs,
electric batons, crooked police and criminals who act according to the
authorities' orders, prisons, courts, etc. However, all these become so trivial
facing Ms. Gao's righteous belief. What does it tell us when the most powerful state machine and most brutal
torture methods couldn't change a group's belief? We can imagine, during those
excruciating 7 hours, Gao Rongrong went through every second with pain
throughout her body, spirit, and heart. We may ask what helped her to defeat
agony, intimidation, desperation, and humiliation. During his concluding remarks of the Canadian lawsuit charging deputy
Chinese Consul for libel, attorney Michael Bergman said that if one had to use
imprisonment and torture to change them, it shows that their belief must be so
unshakable and their faith must be so very powerful that they can so
unbreakable. From practitioners' testimony, we can conclude that Falun Dafa is
such a great belief, which can drive practitioners to seek for beauty. Over the past 5 years, it is the belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion and
Tolerance" which encourages countless Falun Gong practitioners to stand up and
confront evil in a peaceful and rational manner. Falun Gong practitioner Wang Yuzhi was illegally arrested three times for
her Falun Gong practice and she was subject to force-feeding and many other
torture methods. She was eventually rescued to Canada. When recounting her
experience, she said: "I knew that if I surrendered and acted against my will,
by writing a 'guarantee to sever with Falun Gong' and by criticizing Falun
Gong, then I would be spared some of the pressure from Jiang Zemin's regime.
But I never considered that. I know as long as I am alive, I will follow
'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.' I will never give in to lies and evil." "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" is good. Facing pressure and
intimidation, however, many forgot its value. On the contrary, Falun Gong
practitioners won't forget. The unyielding faith and courage demonstrated by
Falun Gong practitioners during the persecution serves as a big blow to the
state terrorism. This type of atrocity exposes the darkness and emptiness of perpetrators'
spirits, and it is the last show of their criminal nature. However, violence
can only speed up evil's self-destruction. The fate of all the perpetrators of
the persecution is miserable, while practitioners who have gone through the
tribulation will shine brightly in history. Viewing the atrocity, more people with a sense of justice won't remain
silent to the Jiang regime's state terrorism. The evil will surely be defeated
by goodness and the day to bring Jiang's regime to justice will soon arrive.
