By a Falun Gong Practitioner in Sydney

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 11, 2004, about ten organizations, including Falun Gong practitioners, Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice and Global Coalition Against China's Export of State-Run Terrorism, held a rally and grand parade in Sydney Town Hall, Australia. They gathered to protest the terrorist act of hiring gunmen to shoot Falun Gong practitioners during Chinese officials Zeng Qinghong and Bo Xilai's visit in South Africa. The shooting aimed to stop Falun Gong practitioners from filing a lawsuit against these officials, who are Jiang Zemin's major assistants in his persecution of Falun Gong.

At the rally, organizations strongly condemned the overseas extension of state terrorism by Jiang's regime, protested against the crime of attempted murder in South Africa and called for the Australian government to assist with the investigation and stand up to Jiang's state terrorism.

Representative of Australian citizens who were victims of the shooting, representatives of Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice, Global Coalition against China's Export of State-Run Terrorism, World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong and democratic movement advocates gave speeches at the rally. Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated torture methods used in the persecution of Falun Gong. The parade started from Sydney Town Hall, passed business districts and ended in Chinatown where more speeches were given.

Ferociousness of Jiang's Regime in Desperation

Jiang's regime has openly taken off its disguise overseas and attempted to murder innocent Falun Gong practitioners. It was evil attacking truth, compassion and tolerance in defiance of humanity and an extension of Jiang's state terrorism to overseas.

Australian Falun Gong practitioners William Wei and David Liang, who were witnesses and victims of the shooting incident, exposed the crime of Jiang's regime with their personal experiences. They said Zeng Qinghong would not be free from punishment for the attempted murder. They called for collective efforts of governments, international organizations, media and groups to expose and stop the state terrorism acts of Jiang's regime.

John Deller, spokesman of Australian Falun Dafa Association said the terrible persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has become a threat to Australian citizens' safety. He called for a condemnation of the crime and support of Falun Gong practitioners from society, because it concerns everyone.

Scott, Australian representative of Global Coalition against China's Export of State-Run Terrorism, warned all countries in the world against the export of state terrorism by the Chinese Communist Party and called for collective efforts to prevent anything like the shooting from happening.

David Rubacek from Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice said the coalition will continue its effort to bring Jiang to justice. It is for David Liang and all peaceful people in Australia and in the world.

Mr. Qin and Mr. Zhang of Democratic Front-China had a strong lash-out at the shooting crime and protested against the extension of terrorism in Australia. Mr. Zhang called Jiang's regime a terrorist organization.

Mr. Fan of World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong read a solemn statement of the organization published on June 29, 2004. The statement called the shooting of Falun Gong practitioners extension of state terrorism and strongly condemned it.

Failing to justify its brutal persecution, Jiang's regime has been covering up its crimes internationally and has harbored bitter hatred against Falun Gong practitioners who exposed their crimes. They distribute rumors utilizing diplomatic means overseas and spread hatred in overseas Chinese communities. They were seized with dread of lawsuits against Jiang and his assistants. They have reached the end of their rope when their efforts to block lawsuits failed. The shooting in South Africa added more evidence of their crimes and exposed their ferociousness.

Falun Gong Practitioners' Compassionate Truth-Clarification with Strong Will

Instead of resorting to violence, Falun Gong practitioners have been peacefully and rationally telling people the truth of Falun Gong. Although they have been wronged and are in misery, they showed the goodness of Falun Dafa with their steadfastness belief in Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance.

The torture demo included Tiger Bench, iron-burning, beating and hanging, beating with electric batons and nail-cage confining. Zhang Cuiying, who was thrown into prison for eight months in China, and other practitioners who had personally experienced the persecution gave their testimony. People were shocked by the facts.

Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful campaign to stop the persecution with legal methods, their peacefulness and rationality created a sharp contract against the insanity of Jiang's regime.

A Call for Conscience and Justice at This Historical Moment

Australia is a peaceful and democratic country against terrorism. Today, the terrorist act happened to Australian citizens. Organizations at the rally called for justice and support of Falun Gong practitioner victim David Liang from kind Australian people, and called to resist extension of Jiang's state terrorism to Australia.

As major assistants to the persecution of Falun Gong, Zeng Qinghong was sued in other countries in October 2002 and Bo Xilai in April and June of 2004 for tortures, genocide and crimes against humanity. Shocked, they retaliated with a drive-by shooting conducted by hired gunmen in South Africa.

The bullets injured David's feet as well as the basic morality and conscience of humanity. Despite of the heavy price that they paid, Falun Gong practitioners harbor no hatred and regret. They work tirelessly to wake up kindness in people's hearts, tell people about the goodness of Falun Dafa and call for a stop to the persecution. The shooting of Falun Gong practitioners has been condemned internationally.

This is a historically significant and critical moment. The rally brought awareness to the world the crime of attempted murder and received more support of Australian Falun Gong practitioners.
