Mr. Xie Chengshan and Two of his Family Members are Illegally Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor

(Clearwisdom.net)

In February 2004, the "610 Office" (1) of Dazu County, in Chongqing, sent three more Falun Dafa practitioners to a labor camp. These three practitioners are part of one family.

Xie Chengshan, 43, is a farmer from the 25th Team, Hongqi Village, Dazu County, and all his family members are Dafa practitioners. Because of validating Dafa, Mr. Xie, his wife and his son were arrested by the local "610 Office," and were each sentenced to three years in a labor camp. Mr. Xie and his son were sent to Xishangping Labor Camp in Chongqing, and his wife was sent to Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp. His daughter was forced to wander destitute far from home.

Before he began practicing Falun Dafa, Xie Chengshan worked at farming, and his son was in college. Due to long years of hard work, Mr. Xie unfortunately suffered from lung cancer. Without enough money to cure the disease, he became extremely emaciated. One day, his son brought home a book, Zhuan Falun, and taught his father to cultivate Falun Dafa. Although he was in terrible pain at the time, Xie Chengshan started to learn Dafa. The more he read the book, the more he wanted to read. Unconsciously, he felt relaxed while studying the Fa (2). Sometimes he would not feel the pain after studying the Fa for a while, no matter how serious the pain initially was. Day by day, his health was recovered to that of normal people. From that time on, whenever he met others, he would say, "The book is so good! Master Li saved me from death; Falun Dafa is so wonderful."

By practicing "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" in order to be good persons, the whole family changed greatly. His elder son was admitted to college, and his wife and their second daughter started to run a fishpond. The family built a new house. Before practicing Dafa, Mr. Xie was bad-tempered and was addicted to alcohol and cigarettes. After cultivating Dafa, he abstained from those bad habits, and lived in harmony with his family members and neighbors. Helping the people in the village to learn Dafa, he set aside a room in his house as a Falun Gong practice site. The whole village soon joined the practice.

After Jiang and his followers began the persecution of Falun Dafa, Mr. Xie often told the villagers, "I was saved by this good practice. I'll continue the practice no matter what, because I am the largest beneficiary of Dafa."

In February 2004, four of the family went to Dazu to distribute Dafa materials. They were reported by onlookers and abducted by vicious policemen. During the arrest, Mr. Xie's daughter managed to escape. The local "610 Office" and the policemen tried to brainwash the family into renouncing Falun Dafa, but they were very determined in their belief. Then the vicious people tortured them in various ways such as the "iron chair" (3) and blowing smoke and putting cigarette butts into their nostrils. In the cold weather, the police directed electric fans at them, and gave them very little food (only a very small amount of rice) each day. After two months of continual persecution, Mr. Xie and his son were sent to Xishangping Labor Camp in Chongqing, and his wife was sent to Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp, each with a three-year sentence.

Notes:

(1) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

(2) Fa: Law and principles; the teachings of Falun Dafa.

(3) The iron chair is made of iron pipes. Victims are restrained on the iron chairs with both arms and legs tied for a long period of time. For more information refer to http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/1/9/17577.html
