Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Chen Jundiao from Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, Receives Illegal Eight-Year Sentence

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Jundiao was imprisoned for thirteen months in Chaoan County, Chaozhou City simply for cultivating Falun Gong. She was transferred to the Guangzhou Female Prison late last month and illegally sentenced to eight years in prison.

Shortly after the "Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation" incident, Chen Jundiao and her fellow practitioners from Caitang Town were imprisoned illegally. During this period of imprisonment, they determinedly refused to cooperate with the orders and instigations of the police, and they spoke out about the truth to the police. They were first imprisoned in Chaoan Detention Center, then in Hongshan Detention Center in Chaozhou City. They were finally released more than one year later.

In June of 2004, the authorities in Chaozhou secretly passed sentences on local Dafa practitioners without notifying their families. Among those who were given prison sentences, Ms. Chen Jundiao received eight years, and Ms. Wu Peifen and Ms. Wu Peifang each received between two and five years. All were then sent to Guangzhou Women's Prison for further persecution.

After learning of the news, the practitioners' families tried to visit them but were turned away by prison officials. Aside from these latest incidents, Chen Jundiao's husband is wanted by the public security office because of his persistence in the practice of Falun Gong. He has had to live away from home since 2003 in order to avoid arrest.
