California, USA: San Diego Falun Gong Practitioners Promote Dafa at Ocean Beach Street Market (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 2, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from San Diego, California, participated in the 25^th annual Ocean Beach street market for the first time. Falun Gong received a warm welcome from local residents. The Ocean Beach street market is an important community event and attracts over 100,000 residents every year.

Since the event was over ten hours long, 20 practitioners scheduled different activities to introduce Falun Dafa and explain the facts of the persecution. During the daylong event, three practitioners demonstrated the exercises or sent forth right thoughts. Other practitioners clarified the truth to the visitors and distributed flyers. When many residents learned that American Citizen Charles Lee was still detained in China, they were outraged and took the initiative to sign their names to support the petition to release Charles Lee. Some encouraged their friends and relatives to sign their names too.

Shortly after the street market started, one lady came up to the practitioners and said that she had been looking for something as wonderful as Falun Gong for 16 years, and now she's finally found it. She later explained that she saw that practitioners had a light ring around their heads while they were demonstrating the exercises. Many years ago, she saw a holy man had a similar ring of light. She learned the exercises and talked to the practitioners for a long time. Practitioners gave her two books, "Zhuan Falun" and "China Falun Gong," as gifts. She said she would introduce Falun Gong to her brother and son.

One lady and her friend watched the practitioners demonstrating the exercises and wanted to join in. When they began practicing the standing stance exercise, she said excitedly that she felt a strong energy flow between her two arms. Before she left, she said she would learn the exercises at the group practice site.
