Statement of Support from Czech Senator Daniel Kroupa at a Falun Gong Rally on the United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture

On the 26th of June 2004, Czech Senator sent the following statement to a Falun Gong press conference on Krizovnicke Square in Prague, Czech Republic.

Dear Friends,

We must not be silent about the abuse of human rights, regardless of which part of the world it is happening in -- be it Belarus, Cuba or China. I want to greet Falun Gong practitioners in the Czech Republic and thank them for their efforts in standing up for those who are tortured and persecuted.

On this occasion I want to express my support to persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China, I want to praise their bravery and endurance. I also want to express my hope that the constant pressure by the world's public opinion will finally force the representatives of the Chinese government to apply their Human Rights policy in accordance with the United Nations' stipulations.
