Taiwan: Falun Dafa Association Condemns Jiang Regime's Terrorist Act of Hiring Thugs to Shoot Overseas Falun Gong Practitioners (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At 10:30am on July 6, the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association held a press conference at Taiwan Legislative Yuan's No.1 Conference Room to strongly condemn the Jiang regime's severe involvement in hiring thugs to shoot overseas Falun Gong practitioners, and to call on South African police to thoroughly investigate the case and punish all criminals found to have been involved with this incident.

Legislative member Lin Cho-shui, Lin Chong-mo, Hou Shui-shen and board member of Chinese Association for Human Rights Wu Hui-lin, invited by the association, also attended the press conference.

Professor Chang Ching-hsi, chairman of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association, said that this South African shooting incident is an extension of Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners to overseas. The fact that gunmen fled after the shooting strongly suggests this is an attack with a purpose to intimidate practitioners.

Professor Chang said that the reason of the incident is the persecution of Falun Gong. Because of the persecution, many high-ranking officials including Jiang himself have been sued overseas and these lawsuits have brought upon huge pressure on these perpetrators. Therefore, it is possible that they use this act of terrorism to intimidate practitioners from filing lawsuits against them.

According to Professor Chang, after the shooting incident, the Chinese Embassy to South Africa issued a statement, in which it didn't condemn the terrorism act or express its sympathy to the attacked Chinese. Rather, the embassy took the opportunity to condemn Falun Gong. This behavior is extremely self-contradictory to the Chinese government which vowed to fight against terrorism. Because Zen Qinghong who was visiting South Africa is an important player in the persecution against Falun Gong, professor Chang believes that Zeng is suspected to have been deeply involved in this incident.

Chu Wan-chi, Taiwan spokeswoman for the legal team leading the "Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice," said that the South African Police currently are calling this case an "unsuccessful assassination." She said that she is very concerned of overseas practitioners' personal security after this incident happened. She said that she has a document which details how Chinese embassies in 32 nations carried out slander, defamation and attacks against overseas practitioners. The evidence shows that the Jiang regime has been persecuting overseas practitioners for a long time.

Legislative member Lin Cho-shui said that it is very disgusting for the totalitarian regime to rely upon acts of terrorism in their attempt to export the persecution of Falun Gong overseas. He called this incident a "shame on Chinese." He said "All Chinese should speak out on this issue to condemn the regime." He also emphasized that the community and exchange between both sides of the strait will endanger civilians if human rights can't be ensured.

Wu Hui-lin, board member of Chinese Association for Human Rights, said that a totalitarian regime often persecutes 1 percent of population in order to intimidate all the citizens. Therefore, this incident has significance internationally and is an example of using terrorism to intimidate those Jiang's regime fears. Professor Wu is a well-known economist in Taiwan, he said that Jiang's regime never takes advantage of China's surface economic growth to improve human rights. Instead, it uses tax-payers' money to persecute people and even export its persecution to other nations. Professor Wu said that evil has never prevailed over justice and Jiang regime's persecution won't last long.
