A Partial List of Falun Dafa Practitioners Illegally Sentenced to Prisons and Forced Labor Camps in Xuchang City, Henan Province

Based on partial information, there have been 6 Falun Gong practitioners illegally sentenced to prisons, at least 37 sentenced to forced labor camps, and more than 200 practitioners arrested in Xuchang City, Henan Province since July 20, 1999, when the persecution began. The illegal fines extorted from practitioners have reached thousands of Yuan (1). Many people have been deprived of work and forced to live in exile.

The six Dafa practitioners sentenced to prisons are:

Mr. Lu Shunmin, 55, is from Wanlu Village, Lingjing Township, Xuchang City. Officers from the Police Department in Xuchange City abducted and held him in the county detention center in May 2002 for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to local residents. During this time, he was placed in a confinement room, handcuffed, and shackled. He was beaten until he fainted three times. He is completely traumatized in mind and body. Later, he was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment. He is still being held in Xinmi Prison.

Mrs. Zhang Peisheng, 40, is a college graduate, and an English teacher in the School of Xuchang Electronics. She went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in October 1999. She was held in the Xuchang Detention Center for months. Policemen abducted her again in October 2000 for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. She was forced to falsely confess by extortion and torture. Policeman Miao Zhongkai shocked her with high voltage electric batons. Later, she was illegally sentenced to a three-year prison term. She is currently held and routinely tortured in the Xinxiang Female Prison.

Mrs. Wang Yanxin, 60, is from the living compound of Xuchang City Council at Xihubei Street. Wang Xinyan was afflicted with many illnesses before practicing. She became rejuvenated after practicing Falun Gong. The policemen illegally held and fined her many times due to her refusal to give up her belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." In June 2003, officers from the Weidu District Branch Police Department abducted her and ransacked her home again without any apparent reason. After she was held in the Xuchang Detention Center for six months, she was sentenced to a one-year prison term.

Mr. Sun Peijie, 37, is the Director of the Zhangpan Township Civilian Affairs Department in Xuchang City. People who did not know the truth about Falun Dafa reported him to the police. He was sentenced to a three-year prison term. At present, he is still being held in the Xinmi Prison.

Mrs. Zhanfeng, 50, is a retired worker from the living compound of the Xuchang Cigarettes Dispatch Station. She was sentenced to a three-year imprisonment with a five-year suspended sentence in July 2001.

Mrs. Zhang Xiuping, 50, is a retired worker from the Xuchang Light Machinery Plant. She was sentenced to three-years of imprisonment with a four-year suspended sentence in July 2001.

At least 37 people below were sentenced to forced labor camp terms.

Wang Weizhen, Chen Zhanyong, Lu Wenxue, Bai Ruimin, Qu Chunrong, Qin Jun, Ms. Wang Yunxia, Duan Yuzhuo, Yang Jianjun, Liu Mingzhou, Chen Donglin, Ms. Zhang Lan, Bai Hongmin, Ms. Miao Huiling, Ms. Lu Yuping, Ms. Li Yuting, Ms. Han Cuiping, Mr. Yuan, Ms. Xu Meilian, Ms. Wang Yanxin, Ms. Wang Chunxia, Ms. Jia Aixian, Ms. Zhang Baoping, Zhao Donglin, Wang Haisong, Cheng Guoqing, Yin Hongxi, Ms. Pan Guimei, Teacher Zhang, Ms. Li Linying, Ms. Zheng Qiaoyun, Zhang Tao, Mrs and Mr. Nou and Liang, Ms. Chen Xiulan, Ms. Fan Jinzhi, and Ms. Zhang Meizhi.
