Jiamusi University Lecturer Sentenced to 20 Year Prison Term for Broadcasting Video about the Persecution of Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.Net) Falun Dafa practitioner Huang Min, 62, is a lecturer from Jiamusi University. In 1989, he suffered partial paralysis from an accident. Later he developed pleurisy, peritonitis, ascites, and trigeminal neuralgia. At the point where he was completely relying on medicine to survive, and his salary could no longer cover his medical expenses, he discovered Falun Dafa. He began to practice Falun Dafa. After he practiced for a while, all his diseases vanished. Because of this, his wife, son, and daughter started to practice Falun Gong too. The whole family experienced perfect health.

Witnessing the family's changes, Huang Min became more confident and firm in the practice. Within one and a half years, he went back to work, after eight years of being sick. He strictly adhered to high standards as required by the Fa, and he put all of his energy into the education career that he loved. He was a college professor, and he contributed all of his materials, experience, and equipment worth ten thousand Yuan (1), to his lab. In the face of personal gain and comfort, he thought of others first. When he was nominated for a promotion, he said, "I'm pretty old now. I can still contribute the rest of my life without a promotion. Let the younger generation have this opportunity."

Just when his family was realizing benefits based on the requirements of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, a persecution towards kind people began. Huang Min said to his family, "It was Master and Dafa that gave me a second life; we're not wrong to be good people based on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Wherever I go, I'm a Dafa disciple." Huang Min proudly went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in spite of the rampant suppression.

In November 1999, he was detained in the Jiamusi Detention Center for six months. In 2000 he was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor for going to Beijing to appeal. In the Jiamusi Labor Camp, they tried to force him to renounce Falun Gong. He was detained in the centralized special team for five months.

In August 2001, due to torture he received in the forced labor camp, Huang Min could no longer take care of himself. Under strong requests from his family and other righteous people, Huang Min was sent to a hospital outside of the labor camp. He started to practice Falun Gong exercises again and he recovered very quickly. He again moved forward diligently in the enormous wave of Fa-rectification. He has been validating Dafa, clarifying the truth, and saving people by conveying his own experiences.

On March 5, 2002, after Changchun practitioners clarified the truth via a cable or satellite broadcast, Huang Min became inspired. His field was electronics, and he had once worked in a TV factory. He said, "This is my responsibility that I cannot push away." Therefore he and some other practitioners started using TV broadcasting to clarify the truth to the people.

In April 2002, the police started to pursue him everywhere, and he was forced to leave home. During that period, his family suffered all kinds of harassment. Police visits never stopped, and the police stayed at his home 24 hours a day. His family members were always followed when they went out, and his home was ransacked many times. His family members have also been illegally abducted, interrogated, and threatened many times. During the 16^th Conference in China, his wife was illegally abducted and detained for 42 days.

In 2002, in order to capture Huang Min, the general Police Bureau offered a reward of 50,000 Yuan. Another 10,000 Yuan was offered to the local city upon his capture. In 2003 Weifang City Police Station in Shandong Province arrested Huang Min and sentenced him to 20 years in prison.

Now Huang Min is detained in the Shandong Prison. For over a year, Huang Min has maintained righteous thoughts and insisted on maintaining his belief. He has been detained in the 8^th Allocation Assembly for nine months now, and he has often been severely persecuted and tortured. It was reported that the Shandong Prison is starting another round of more serious persecution to force Falun Dafa practitioners to renounce the practice. Dafa practitioners are often forced to sit on small benches to be brainwashed. He has refused to sit. Around May 1, he went on a hunger strike. His current situation is not known.
