Australia: Introducing Falun Dafa on Foundation Day at the University of New South Wales (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Thursday, August 5, 2004 was the Foundation Day of the University of New South Wales in Australia. Many groups and associations in the university set up booths on campus. Falun Dafa practitioners from this university and other universities took part in the activities. In front of the booth was a banner reading "Falun Dafa." On the table were a variety of materials in both Chinese and English, which explained about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. There was also beautiful paper-folded lotus flowers, many small bags of candies, and flyers about exercise practice times on campus.

At noon, practitioners demonstrated the exercises. Many students passing by were attracted by the peaceful and harmonious scene, and slowed down. In the afternoon, practitioners demonstrated the exercises a second time, and many people took pictures and asked practitioners questions about the movements and principles of the exercises.

Folding paper lotus flowers was also very popular. Many students came to the booth and remarked how beautiful the lotus flowers were, and wanted to have one, and some people wanted to learn how to fold the paper lotus flowers. Practitioners presented the visitors with paper-folded lotus flowers and told them that the lotus is like Falun Gong practitioners who persist in their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance in China. They told them that Falun Gong practitioners have been suffering persecution for not renouncing their beliefs, and many have died as a result of the persecution. Jiang's Group's brutally persecutes Falun Gong because of Jiang's envy and resentment. People were shocked and felt it was inconceivable that such a peaceful group of cultivators was suppressed. Many people heard about story of four-year-old Fadu, and hoped that they could do something to help. Finally they signed their names on the petition and took home flyers that explained the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution.

Many Chinese people passed by the Falun Dafa practitioners' booth, and some were quite surprised, walking around the booth, and finally taking some Chinese flyers to learn the facts. More and more people want to learn the facts about Falun Dafa.
