The Importance of Studying the Fa

For quite a while now, I have neglected Fa study, giving it less importance than truth clarification projects. Along with this, I noticed that a lot of my old attachments that I thought I had cultivated away have reappeared, and I have made many mistakes and behaved like an ordinary person with many attachments.

I remember that when I first started cultivation, I placed emphasis on Fa-study, no matter how busy I was with Dafa work. At that time, I believe that I conducted myself properly, was able to balance my regular work and Dafa work well, was able to do a lot of Dafa work, and was also able to finish my regular work on time. I felt my main problem then was that I was a little over-zealous and sometimes did not pay enough attention to how I was perceived by those around me.

But as I got more and more busy with Dafa work, as the interference that I suffered from the old forces seemed to become less and less, and as my living and financial condition improved more and more, I paid less and less attention to Fa study. Then, even though I seemed to be busy the whole day, I found that I was doing much less work and was more tired than when I was consistently studying the Fa every day.

I find that on the few days that I do study the Fa a lot, I am very clearheaded and able to easily finish work efficiently and without feeling tired.

I have noticed recently that whenever practitioners get together for a group activity or other reasons, they spend their free time chatting amongst themselves or talking about trivial things, rather than studying the Fa. Of course, practitioners travel long distances to see each other and the environment is getting better, but I think that as long as the evil and old forces exist, we cannot let down our guard and must do well what Dafa disciples should do.

Master said in "Touring North America to Teach the Fa":

In this important period of the Fa-rectification, let us do well the three things that Master has asked us to do.(1) For me, that especially means continuing to study the Fa. This way, we can do everything well.

(1) Study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth about Falun Dafa.
