The Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in Dongzhanghe Village, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) One evening in May 2004, policemen from the Chengan County Public Security Bureau and the local police station abducted nine practitioners from Dongzhanghe Village, Zhanghedian Town, Chengan County, Handan City, Hebei Province, and held them in the county detention center. Soon after, practitioners Mr. Dong Dazhang and Ms. Han Yuqin were sentenced to three years of forced labor. Ms. Han was tortured until she lost consciousness several times during her imprisonment. When the police took Ms. Han to the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp, the camp refused to accept her due to her poor physical condition. So, the Chengan County Public Security Bureau extorted 14,000 yuan (1) from her family, then released her from the detention center. Mr. Dong Dazhang is currently being held at the Handan City Forced Labor Camp. The police released the other seven practitioners after the practitioners' families paid 3,000-6,000 yuan.

Cao Zhixia, the head of the Handan City "610 Office" made a special trip to Dongzhanghe Village to review the persecution progress. On August 4, 2004, Cao ordered officials from the Zhanghedian Government to detain the practitioners from Dongzhanghe Village. Led by the Village Committee head, the officials came to the practitioners' homes and deceived the practitioners into going to the government building under the false pretense of attending a study session. As soon as five practitioners, Ms. Han Yuqin, Ms. Chen Lanfang, Ms. Zhang Fengxiang, Ms. Liu Xiangting and Ms. Lingdi (first name) arrived at the county government building, they were abducted and taken to the "Strictly Monitored Group" (which is, in fact, the Brainwashing Center) in the Handan City Forced Labor Camp. So far, the authorities still have not informed the practitioners' families where they are being held.

On August 5, the officials arrived at the village again and attempted to abduct other practitioners. We urge Handan practitioners who read this information, to please expose the crimes committed by the city "610 Office" and the Chengan County Public Security Bureau.
