(Clearwisdom.net) One weekend in August 2004, on the streets of Manhattan, New York, as hurried pedestrians stopped by a display board, attentive eyes were filled with grief and astonishment.

The display revealed the tragic story of a beautiful face being disfigured, and showed shocking before and after photos. (1) The victim was Gao Rongrong, a staff member in the financial division of Lu Xun Art College in Shenyang City. She was detained in Longshan Reformatory in Shenyang City because she refused to give up Falun Gong. On May 7th, 2004, Jiang Zhaohua, the director of No. 2 Brigade in Longshan, and Tang Yubao, the deputy-director of No. 2 Brigade in Longshan Reformatory shocked her with electric batons for six consecutive hours, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. As a result, her face was seriously disfigured.

The photos helped New Yorkers understand the victim's struggle and witness the criminals' perversity. It allowed them to imagine the six-hour torture as these ruthless men eagerly ruined such a beautiful face, just because Gao Rongrong adhered to her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

The thought of disfigurement makes most people shudder, and is generally associated with hatred and revenge, but the staff from Longshan Reformatory and Gao Rongrong probably never even met before. Why would they have such hatred to torture her so?

The hatred is the result of Jiang Zemin and his accomplices' vain attempts to eradicate Falun Gong. Facing Falun Gong practitioners' firm and unyielding belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," Jiang Zemin resorted to brainwashing and forced "conversion." Anyone refusing "conversion" is brutally tortured or even murdered.

Due to continuous torture, the disfigured Gao Rongrong developed hematuria and has not been able to take food since August 9th, 2004. She was as thin as a skeleton and injured. The No. 1 Hospital affiliated with China Medical University (Shenyang) diagnosed her as critically ill again and again, but Shenyang Judiciary Bureau, the higher authority of Longshan, refused to release her.

Directing the persecution of Gao Rongrong, Li Fengshi, the director of Longshan told his subordinates who watched Gao Rongrong every day: "If she dies, let me know immediately, and get the death certificate from the hospital immediately." This is a form of premeditated murder.

Instead of punishing his subordinates who violated the law while following orders, Shi Fengshan said to Gao Rongrong: "This is a powerful office. What is the purpose of handcuffs and electric batons? Is it possible that we cannot control you!" Two other Falun Gong practitioners, Wang Xiuyuan and Wang Hong, were tortured to death in Longshan Reformatory. According to an investigation by The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, at the end of 2001, Longshan was awarded 400,000 yuan for their "meritorious" persecution of Falun Gong.

Chinese people all know that the quality of police and prisons in China is very poor, and human rights are seriously violated. Even Chinese officials have publicly acknowledged this in recent years, citing the need to rectify the problem. But Jiang's regime rewards those who kill kind people as "honored units and individuals". This is not merely an issue of poor law enforcement. It is the direct result of the systematic persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang Zemin. It is obvious that the persecution of Falun Gong is blocking the way to Chinese human rights' improvement, while the "training" of corrupt police propagates hatred and encourages dishonorable behavior like disfiguring an innocent woman.

If the police can disfigure kind Falun Gong practitioners today, who can guarantee they will not commit similar crimes against other people that come their way? Jiang has stripped the police of their conscience, and instilled in them the desire to "devastate practitioners' lives if you can not strangle their spirit", corrupting the basic morality that guides the whole society.

We must stop this persecution.

On the streets of Manhattan, New York, a local woman watched the torture exhibit held by Falun Gong practitioners, then asked eagerly: "What can I do to stop the massacre?" She said she was a member of "Olympic Watch" and understood that China concealed human rights violations and used financial incentives to induce western societies to ignore them. She cherished the practitioners' courage to expose the persecution of Falun Gong and encouraged them to persist in their efforts.

As long as the persecution does not stop, Falun Gong practitioners will continue to expose the persecution, clarify the truth about Falun Dafa, put an end to the persecution of people like Gao Rongrong, and stop such tragedies from happening again.
