Facts about the Persecution of Mr. Yang Lidong at the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 8, 2002, local police from Tuanjie Police Station arrested practitioner Mr. Yang Lidong, who is from Songyuan City, Jilin Province, after they ransacked his house. Yang was brutally beaten and tortured and sentenced to two years of "reform through forced labor" because he would not give up his belief. He was sent to the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province on February 11, 2002.

Right after Mr. Yang arrived at the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp, he was persecuted because of his belief. Officer Gao Ke, was the political instructor of the "education" team for the labor camp at that time. He is one of the criminals who tortured practitioner Sun Shizhong to death, and he often orders the criminal inmates to torture practitioners. He is currently the Captain of the Agricultural Brigade at Jiutai Labor Camp. His cell phone number is 86-13314315816. Officer Gao Ke ordered criminal inmates Zhang Laoqi and Zhu Laoliu (both are pseudonyms) to tie Yang Lidong's arms and legs to a bed and beat him with wooden and plastic rods. One time when Yang shouted "Falun Dafa is great," these inmates tied him to the bed and flipped it so Yang was upside-down for half an hour. Yang went on a hunger strike for more than 20 days, grew very thin and lost mobility in his arms. The labor camp had to take Yang to the Jiutai City Hospital.

In May 2002, Yang Lidong was sent to the 4th team (the basic construction team). The place took 5-10 points every month off the firm Dafa practitioners, which meant their sentences were prolonged 5-10 days every month. Mr. Yang refused to sign the paperwork and officers Yang Yiping and Zhang Xin beat him with whips made by twisting thick iron wires together. Yang Lidong was covered with blood after the beating, but was still forced to work.

In February 2003, Yang Lidong refused to watch a movie that slandered Dafa. He also refused slave labor. Yang was locked in a small cell. After Yang got out of the small cell, he was locked in a "strict-monitoring" cell. There, he had no freedom and was tortured mentally and physically for a long time. Yang was persecuted until he was emaciated and had a big hump on his back. He could only walk by dragging himself and was denied medical treatment. The police would not allow him to study Falun Dafa teachings and do the exercises. On February 7, 2004, the labor camp would not release him when he had served his term and tried to force him to write the "Guarantee Statement" (1). Yang refused to do so. By February 22, 2004, Yang's life was in danger and the labor camp officials did not want to be responsible for his death. They asked the Tuanjie Police Station to take him back. Yang has still not recovered.

(1) Guarantee Statement -- A statement to declare that one is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.
