Many Falun Dafa practitioners jailed in Shenyang No.1 Prison have been on hunger strike since the end of July, protesting the illegal detention. They are asking that Falun Dafa's reputation be restored, and for the unconditional release of all Falun Dafa practitioners jailed in the prison. As of August 10, they had been on hunger strike for over ten days. However, the police guards have brutally force-fed them.

Zhang Haifeng, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Zhayinhe Township of Hailun City, was unlawfully abducted by railway police on June 28, 2004. He was on a train traveling from Bei'an to Suihua, and was reading an electronic book at the time of his arrest. The railway police took him by force to the Suihua Railway Public Security Bureau. The next day he was transferred to the Harbin Railway Detention Center. Later, he was detained at Hailun Detention Center, where he has been subjected to torture. Currently he has been on hunger strike for seven days, protesting the persecution.

On August 7, Lu Xiqiu, a practitioner from Zhudian was arrested by Section One of the Xishui Public Security Bureau. He is currently being detained at the Xishui Detention Center.

Nan Xiaoqing, a practitioner from Xishui (his father, Nan Chuyin, was tortured to death), was wrongfully sentenced to eight years in prison.

Ms. Yuan Zehuan, 38, is from Qizhuang of Lisongzhuang Village, Tongzaipu Town, Tanghe County. On the evening of March 9, Yuan Zehuan was abducted while explaining the truth of Falun Dafa to people around her. On March 19, she was transferred to Tanghe Detention Center. Her 70-year-old father-in-law and her twelve-year-old child are now left alone at home. Her husband was forced to leave home in early 2002 in order to avoid illegal detention.

At noon on August 10, 2004, Jinzhou practitioner Wang Lin tried to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa while doing some shopping at Shifulu Road on his way home, but a woman called Lingnan Police Substation (86-416-3880017) to report him. Policemen from the police substation abducted Wang Lin and detained him in the Jinzhou No. 1 Detention Center.

Yang Guoxiu, a plainclothes security guard, reported Ms. Hao Lihua, from Shunyi District, as she explained the facts about Falun Dafa to some people gathered around her. On April 1, 2004, she was arrested. Fifteen days later, she was taken to Fengtai Detention Center. Currently she is being detained in Nihe Detention Center. Shunyi District Court plans to try her illegally at 9:00 a.m. on August 3, 2004.

In July 2004, some practitioners from Xinzhuangtou Village of Wangchun Township, Laishui County were reported to police. Laishui Public Security Bureau sent four practitioners directly to forced labor camp without following any legal procedures. Among the four practitioners, one is 54, one is 53, and one is 49 years old. Two other practitioners were also detained at Laishui Detention Center.

Mr. Feng Enke, 58, is from Sujiatun of Shenyang City. He was reported to police while distributing truth-clarifying VCDs. Later, he was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp, and on June 10, 2004, he was sent to Shenyang Law College, which is in fact a brainwashing center. Policemen instructed assistant guards to shock him with electricity. Wounds from the electric shocks could be seen on the right side of his neck, and on his chest and head. They shocked him for over ten minutes multiple times, totaling three hours in all.
