3. Jiang's Regime is the Culprit Who Utilizes All Means to Impose Mind Control in China

If Falun Gong has nothing to do with imposing mind control in China, then who is the real culprit?

Since ancient times, an old technique used by a thief to cover himself is to yell, "catch that thief." With the declining moral standard, this phenomenon is being brought to new heights in China. One bizarre occurrence is that the most corrupt person usually is the one who cries the loudest against corruption. The Chinese public is intimately aware of this fact. By the same token, on the question of mind control, Jiang's followers announce that they are against cults and mind control. However, in actuality, they themselves are guilty of controlling the minds of the people of China. It is they who have taken away freedom of belief. During the past several years, the persecution and suppression of Falun Gong by Jiang's followers proves this point.

The core of Jiang's followers' persecution of Falun Gong is to imprint their anti-Falun Gong sentiment into the minds of the Chinese public. Under this campaign of state-sponsored terror, not only Falun Gong practitioners, but also all Chinese people are being deprived of their independent thinking and right to express different ideas. People are without choice but to accept Jiang and his followers' way of thinking.

In order to achieve their goal, Jiang's followers use every conceivable inhumane technique, bringing together all methods ever conceived during the course of human history. On the eve when the persecution was to be launched, Jiang Zemin himself cried out, " Destroy them! Destroy them!" "I just don't believe that Chinese Communist Party can't win over Falun Gong." While beating practitioners, police cry out, "If you are not reformed, I guarantee that you will wish you were dead instead of alive!" All of a sudden, terror has blanketed every corner in China. The all-encompassing reign of terror is everywhere. Whoever doesn't conform will be punished, which means that either their careers are ruined or they are jailed, leaving a broken family behind. According to the limited information available, more than one thousand practitioners have died in the persecution. Under this terrorism, whoever goes along with the present dictates will prosper and whoever opposes it will perish. We have to ask ourselves, is there any difference from the bloody persecution of Christians by the Roman emperors? Isn't it even worse than what happened at that time? Isn't this happening only because Jiang has controlled the minds of the Chinese people? Isn't that mind control?

I am a Falun Gong practitioner who was persecuted in a forced labor camp. I personally experienced this behind-the scenes plotting, the so-called reform, which is being beautified as, "feeling just as soothing as the spring wind and rain." I will not repeat it here since the media has already covered this terrorism overseas. I just want to tell you a true story about a professor from a university who held a Ph.D., whom I met in forced labor camp. He benefited from practicing Falun Gong both physically and mentally. He knew that everything that was publicized by the government about Falun Gong was fabricated and he refused to be "Reformed". To make him give in, guards forced him to carry loads of human waste under the hot summer sun without help. He refused to yield. Police continued to increase the degree of torture until his feet no longer carried him. They still didn't give up torturing him. But he still would not yield to them. The guards then employed an even more cruel method. They took turns torturing him by depriving him of sleep. He still did not yield. They then dragged him into a room and tied each of his arms to a chair. Seven or eight guards held him down. The leader of them, with his feet resting on a desk, said, "I have all the time I need today and I don't believe I can't deal with you. Are you going to be reformed or not!" The practitioner paid no attention to him. Then one brought an electric baton and beat the most sensitive spots of his body. His miserable cries were heard outside the room. Even today, the painful cries still echo in my mind. What is reform? This is what they call reform.

Under such brutal coercion, some practitioners reluctantly consented to quit practicing. However, guards still wouldn't leave them alone and continued to torture them mentally. How was it done? It wasn't over even after these practitioners said they would quit practicing. Police forced them to write "Five Statements," such as "Guarantee Statement," "Repentant Statement" and "Denouncement Statement." (1). Writing them once wasn't sufficient. One had to keep writing them until the police were satisfied. Finally, some higher-level personnel had to approve these statements. For the sake of destroying these practitioners' spirits completely, they forced them to mark an "X" on Teacher's picture and spit on it. If a practitioner didn't spit or mark the "X" on the picture, the torture and brainwashing would continue. Depriving practitioners of their right to independent thinking; depriving them of basic human dignity; forcing them to listen to endless hours of recordings defaming their practice and their beliefs; if this isn't brainwashing and mind control, then what is?

A researcher who is specialized in cult practices divides mental control into four categories, i.e., message control, behavior control, emotional control and thought control. In analyzing Jiang's regime persecution of Falun Gong by these four categories, we can see more clearly who is trying to use mind control in China today.

First, from the aspect of message control, the fabricated lies about Falun Gong launched by Jiang's regime reflect the practice (typical of cults) of "what I say goes." They deprive and tramp on the public's rights to know the truth about Falun Gong. In the past five years, the public could only hear the lies about Falun Gong, broadcast over and over and over by the only media in the country: Jiang's state controlled media. Hardly a single word said is true.

Just like one knowledgeable person said: "All the lies made over the course of history don't compare to those made by Jiang regime. They cover every aspect of human ideas. Different lies were created to suit different mentalities in order for everyone to accept the lies and to create resentment towards Falun Gong. If one believes in science, they'll say that Falun Gong is superstitious. If one doesn't like being involved in politics, they'll say that Falun Gong is involved in politics. If one is jealous of others becoming rich and going abroad, they'll say Falun Gong is accumulating wealth. If one doesn't like organizations, they'll say that Falun Gong is a very strict organization. If one is tired of decades of personal idolization, they'll say that Falun Gong is using mind control. If one is very patriotic, they'll say that Falun Gong is being used by foreign powers against China. If one doesn't believe in qigong, since it is hard to grasp, then they'll say that practicing Falun Gong will lead one towards insanity. If one likes the stability of society, they'll say that Falun Gong disrupts social stability. ¡®Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance' is Falun Gong's central teaching; they'll say that Falun Gong is against truthfulness, against compassion and against forbearance. They fabricated the lie that ¡®Falun Gong compassion will lead to murder'. If one believes that the government could not fabricate so many lies, they'll create bigger and bigger lies: from suicide to self-immolation, from family murder to mass murder, and so much more, so they can force you to believe them."

(1) "Five statements": Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the five statements consist of a statement of repentance for having practiced Falun Gong in the past, a Guarantee Statement to never again practice Falun Gong and associate with other practitioners, a promise statement not to appeal for Falun Gong, a statement of denouncing Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.
