Falun Dafa Practitioners Detained in Daqing Prison Sue Prison Personnel and Inmate for Crimes Committed Against Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) Plaintiffs: All Falun Gong practitioners detained in Daqing Prison Defendants: Accusations: Details: At 9 a.m. on September 15, 2003, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhong,
detained in the No. 3 Ward of Daqing Prison, was practicing the Falun Gong
exercises in his cell. He was called to the office by Deputy Warden Li Fangjie.
Li and several other police officers violently punched Mr. Zhang's head,
causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the ground instantly. However,
the perpetrators claimed that Mr. Zhang was faking. So they all kicked his
abdomen, causing Mr. Zhang to vomit blood; he could not stand up due to the
disabling of his lower limbs. Mr. Zhang's stomach was also severely injured
and he could not eat anything. He would vomit anything taken in. He is now
staying at the prison hospital and shows no sign of recovery. His life is in
great danger. The head of the hospital said privately that Mr. Zhang could
only live for half a month at most. However, Li Fangjie is still at large, as
if nothing has happened. As a law enforcement personnel, Li knowingly broke
the law himself, tortured a detained practitioner to disability with cruel
means and completely ignored the consequences. This kind of savage conduct has
severely violated state law and regulations, tarnished the reputation of the
police and should be severely punished according to the law. However, so far
no one has agreed to attend to the case and it has been postponed numerous
times. Therefore, we decided to write this complaint. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Lizhuang was detained in the No.1 Ward of
Daqing Prison. Because he refused to write the "Repentance
Statement" (1), Prison Director Jiang Shuchen threatened him, "If
you don't write it, I will torture you. We will not allow you to sleep! I will
not give you any human rights. Let's see who's more powerful, Falun Dafa or
me." Soon afterwards, Mr. Li was sent back to the prison from the
factory. The then Deputy Warden of the No. 1 Ward, Ye Wenhui, transferred him
to the No. 2 Team (still in No. 1 Ward). Since then, prisoner Wang Huanqing
has subjected Mr. Li to long-term brutal persecution and others jailed there.
They beat him, abused him, and often tortured him inhumanly, which has caused
severe damage to both Mr. Li's mind and body. From December 2003 to January 2004, Wang and others stripped Mr. Li to the
skin and soaked him in icy cold water (for as long as half an hour each time),
squeezed his testicles, pulled his penis, stuffed his mouth with dirty rags,
and inserted a water tube and toothbrush into his anus and ran water into the
tube. The torture almost killed Mr. Li. Then they dragged his naked body
around in the hall. They tortured him like this again and again for a month.
As long as Mr. Li refused to write the "Repentance Statement" they
would keep torturing him. On January 15, 2004, prisoner Wang Huanqing
slandered Falun Dafa while making a cell phone call secretively in the
restroom. Mr. Li happened to be washing his face there, so he said, "Falun
Dafa is a righteous way." Wang Huanqing was outraged upon hearing it and
he verbally abused Mr. Li loudly. Then Wang went to find eight or nine people
to violently beat Mr. Li, to the point that Mr. Li's ribs were fractured, the
soft tissues around his waist were severely damaged and his cornea was clogged
with blood. Mr. Li has reported the persecution against him many times to
Deputy Warden Ye and other prison personnel, but the only reply he got was,
"We cannot keep an eye on you 24 hours a day." Especially over the past few years, the police officers always treat the
practitioners inhumanly and show no care about their lives. Dafa disciples are
always honest, kind and never harm others. They are truly the best people. Why
should they be treated so cruelly? What kind of a society are we in today?
What is truly beautiful is regarded as ugly, but the truly ugly thing is
considered as something of beauty. The perpetrators who are committing evil
deeds are allowed to get away with their crimes, while the truly good people
are put in jail. If things continue like this, won't humankind bring
destruction to itself? Mr. Zhang Zhong has become disabled due to the beatings from the police in
Daqing Prison. The Intermediate People's Procuratorate in Daqing City has
started to investigate this case. However, whether they will handle the case
seriously or not remains to be seen. We sincerely hope that all law
enforcement personnel at each level can let go of any prejudice and handle the
case according to the law, so as to uphold justice and to bring the
perpetrators to justice. June 1, 2004 (1) "Repentance Statement": In this statement, the practitioner
is forced to admit remorse for practicing Falun Gong, promise to give up Falun
Gong and never again to associate with other practitioners or to go to Beijing
to appeal for Falun Gong.
