Practitioners from Toronto Share Experiences about Truth Clarification in New York

(Clearwisdom.net) In this last stage of Fa rectification, practitioners b realized in experience sharing that New York City is more than just a large city with many people, it is also the biggest financial and trade center of the world. If people here learn the truth about Dafa and what is happening in China, they will have a clear understanding when they make investment and trading decisions. This could have a positive impact on humankind, society, and the future, but it is all up to the practitioners' compassion and clarifying the truth.

The intersection of Lexington Avenue and 60^th Street is a very busy area. A group of about 50 of us visiting from the Toronto area quickly joined local practitioners and practitioners from Montreal to start an anti-torture exhibition, exercise demonstration, and truth clarification. At the end of the day, we all had a lot of experience to share with others on the way back to hotel.

Don't be affected by the surroundings

A: Yesterday when I just started distributing the truth-clarifying materials, I felt that there were many people coming and going in a hurry. Some didn't even show any facial expression, and not many people took the materials. Later I realized that we should not be affected by the surroundings and the surface appearance. We should have righteous hearts, do all we should be doing, be unremitting, and offer salvation to all beings. We know that the battle between justice and evil has already begun in the universe. The evil can only control people in this human world to become apathetic and care for nothing but short-term gains. What we are doing is sacred; our righteous thoughts and behavior can restore the conscience in the people around us, enabling great change. I also realize that what we say and do is also part of being responsible to others. For instance, when we distribute the materials, we should not just simply give them the material mechanically. We should tell them that Falun Dafa is good and explain what is happening in China. A few simple words can have an impact on an apathetic person. I was distributing the materials in an intersection, and found that when I talked while distributing the materials, people often came and asked for the materials.

Also, before our New York trip, some local practitioners shared their thought that people in Manhattan care about personal interest very much, and might be apathetic to our truth clarification. My understanding is that we should trust in Teacher and believe in Dafa. Teacher has told us what to do. We should do our best, and all the changes will take place.

How to better clarify the truth to people in New York

B: Some practitioners brought up the question of how to combine big corporations' benefits with our truth clarification. Some practitioners realized that stopping the persecution in China actually protects investors. If this persecution ended, they would find that over one hundred million practitioners are actually the best partners, as they are people one can truly trust. They would also see a more stable investment market at the end of this persecution, because any company would be happy to do business with a nation that has a good reputation and protects human rights.

The power of acting as one body

C: I'm also enlightened by other practitioners' experience. I think our gathering here indicates the power of acting as one body. Clarifying the truth in economic circles, we see that businessmen's top priority is normally profit, and the more money the better. Jiang Zemin is pushing humankind towards a bad end. If the persecution were stopped, it would be beneficial to everyone and to society.

Before and After Doing the Exercises

D: I was handing out the truth clarification material this afternoon. At one point, I felt very tired, so fellow practitioners told me to do the exercises. I practiced several sets of the exercises and felt immediately refreshed. Meanwhile, I always reminded myself to send forth righteous thoughts when handing out the materials, and I noticed that more people passing by accepted the truth clarification material. There were several people who asked me where they could find a practice site.

Every Change is Within

E: I was handing out truth clarification materials at an intersection. When I offered it to an old man sitting nearby, he did not want it at first. I kept handing out materials to the surrounding people. At one point, a flyer dropped to the ground. As I bent down to pick up the flyer, the old man suddenly asked, "Could you please give me a copy?" He read it very carefully. After he finished, he told me, "Very good! Very good! Where can I find the book? I'd also like to learn." I told him that he should be able to find most things on the Internet. He was so happy. Fellow practitioners realized that as long as we are doing what Teacher told us, every change is within.

Chinese People Here in Town

F: Yesterday we were near Chinatown. At lunchtime, many Chinese people on the streets asked us for truth clarification material. Some of them even asked us where to learn the exercises and some said that Falun Gong practice is good for one's health. Since I ran out of the material in my hands, I began to talk to them. One Chinese person came to listen and then a group of Chinese people surrounded us. They could all understand the situation.

Yesterday and Today

G: Yesterday when I was handing out truth clarification material, a Chinese man appeared to be very resistant and rejected the material from me. Today in the early morning, when we were doing the group exercises, he came again. Not only did he accept the truth material, but also he brought along two westerners as friends.

Today (August 15, 2004), about 50 Dafa practitioners from Toronto came to the site where we held the torture exhibitions the day before. The practitioners were just lining up and doing the exercises while over a dozen cameras were photographing us from the other side. One policeman saw two practitioners sitting outside the area designated by them. He said he really did not want to bother us but he could not imagine why the Chinese government was persecuting such a peaceful group.

More groups of fellow practitioners are coming to New York City. We strive to each do better in truth clarification and saving people with a pure and serene heart.
