Sweden: Anti-Torture Exhibition in Gothenburg Exposes the Ruthless Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in China (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 3rd 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in Sweden held an anti-torture exhibition on Gustav Adolf Square in front of the Gothenburg City Government Buildings, exposing the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and calling on the government of Gothenburg and its people to help end this persecution. According to Falun Gong practitioners, former leader Jiang Zemin is personally responsible for the persecution. It is verified that the persecution has already killed over 1000 people and hundreds of thousands of innocent families are suffering.

The staff in the city government building were looking out of the windows. Falun Gong and human rights issues in China have become their main topic at the moment. Some officials came out to look at the anti-torture exhibition and express their support for the Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful and righteous actions.

The exhibition drew thousands of spectators. Most of them were indignant upon seeing how the practitioners are forced to give up their faith through being tortured. One lady asked, "What kind of person allows such violence to happen?"

One lady, who is a victim of the Nazi concentration camps, cried while looking at the exhibition. She told the practitioners, "I know, I know that it is very cruel indeed! But I have never thought that such tragedies are still happening now." She pledged her support for our exposing the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and hopes more people will come and help end the persecution. In the end, she left our anti-torture exhibition with tears in her eyes.

A middle-aged man was sitting not far from the exhibition and was watching two of the practitioners dressed as Chinese policemen. He told a Falun Gong practitioner, "I really want to go over and give those two policemen a good beating. How can they ill-treat a good person!" When the practitioner told him that those two were just enacting as policemen and they were not real ones, he said, "I know that they are dressed up as Chinese policemen, that's why I haven't gone over and given them a good beating. But in China, it is a cruel fact." He expressed his idea that he is going to tell all his friends what has been happening in China and ask them to give their support to Falun Gong practitioners.

Many people signed their names on a petition calling on the Swedish Government to condemn the persecution, and expressing their concern and support for Falun Gong practitioners in China.
