A Practitioner In China Talks About His Experience Calling Beijing
By Fochen in China
(Clearwisdom.net) After learning that the evil is gathering in Beijing, I
started to call Beijing in my spare time. I obtained the telephone numbers of
the headmasters of elementary schools in some suburbs in Beijing. At the time
some practitioners had successfully prosecuted Chen Zhili (Minister of Education
Department) in Africa. I used this for starters and then went straight to the
self-immolation incident in Tiananmen square, the lawsuits abroad against Jiang
for his persecution of Falun Gong, and the fact that Falun Dafa is being spread
rapidly around the world. The result was very positive. Except for the lines I
could not get through, all the people that I talked to listened very
attentively, and some even asked many questions. Most of the conversations ended
only when I thought that they had received enough information. I could not help but feel complacent with these initial successes. I even
thought that these numbers were not "substantial" enough, and that I
should look for something more challenging, someone who is deeply lost and
deceived by the propaganda. And if I could turn them around, then that would be
really saving people. However, things did not pan out as I had thought,
undoubtedly because of my complacency I met with difficulties in my subsequent
calls. I calmed myself down and turned to preparing the necessary materials for the
calls. I had collected many such materials because I used to do
truth-clarification to the Chinese people on and off. I read through
experience-sharing articles on clarifying the truth written by fellow
practitioners in the past two or three years, and the materials for fax and
broadcast. Taking the valuable experiences of fellow practitioners as reference,
I carefully reassessed the telephone calls that I made previously, and made a
special summary of the shortcomings. For example, I didn't study the Fa before
calls, and I forgot to send forth righteous thoughts while clarifying the truth.
Because I used to spend a great deal of time on truth-clarification using other
methods, when I started calling I just wanted to zero straight in on clarifying
the truth, and I wouldn't even want to talk when people wanted to know more
about Dafa once they learned the truth. I figured that would be for the next
stage, and I needn't waste time on it now. There was a period of time when I
joined a group to save fellow practitioners, I came into contact with the police
often, and I was influenced by their vicious words and actions. So when people
told me that Falun Gong had nothing to do with them, I felt helpless and simply
gave up calling because I thought I couldn't make any breakthroughs. I took out the materials that were of relevance to Beijing and combined them
with the ones for rescuing fellow practitioners and reorganized them into
different categories. I picked out a number of practitioners that needed to be
rescued and collected all the materials about their past and their latest
situation from the Internet. Then I nailed down the relevant work units and made
calls to them. I felt that was a better approach, which not only serves to
rescue fellow practitioners but also clarifies the truth at the same time. Even
if the other side had nothing to do with the practitioners to be rescued, a
thorough understanding of the practitioner's situation could only help with the
truth-clarification. Otherwise, it would be difficult to convince them if I only
talked in generalities. I ran into several people who still thought that the
persecution was mere hearsay; the public security personnel also often asked if
the person lived in the district. So if we could raise specific examples of
persecuted practitioners that the people we call are familiar with, the effect
of our call would be much more compelling. So before clarifying the truth, we
need to have a good understanding about the subject matter we are going to
discuss. My personal understanding is that clarifying the truth by phone is an art. I
find that when I call often, I can talk freely, and find many topics to begin
the conversation with, and when it's time to switch to the truth about Dafa, it
becomes quite natural, and I can easily control the topic. Sometimes if the
other side is willing to listen, I can talk for hours on end. On the other hand,
if I don't call for a while, I am at a loss as to what to say when I pick up the
phone. Practice makes perfect, and we can really accumulate a lot of experience
to suit ourselves. Before making any calls we should do the necessary
preparation. We get what we put in, and we will not be able to convince the
other party if we are not clear about the truths we are clarifying. However, we
need not be constrained by experience either. Sometimes I see practitioners from
overseas achieving miraculous results, and I feel that they are more suited to
the task, but this is a manifestation of bad enlightenment. Practitioners are
all different, and their cultivation paths are different, and so are the ways to
clarify the truth. We can learn from the experiences of fellow practitioners,
but we must not be constrained by these experiences. More importantly, we should
make the best use of our own ability and do our best. As long as we study the Fa
more, have righteous thoughts and maintain a heart of compassion to save
sentient beings, wisdom will rush forth nonstop, and we will certainly achieve
the results of saving sentient beings. The above is some shallow understanding of mine in the area of preparation
for truth-clarification by telephone. I hope more practitioners will share their
experiences so that we can learn from each other, and I also hope that good news
keeps coming in the battle between righteous and evil in other dimensions over
Beijing.
