Woman In Her 70's Tortured at the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Employees of the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center in Lanzhou sent Falun Gong practitioners who refused to write the so-called "Three Statements" (stating that the practitioner would renounce his or her beliefs) to forced labor camps, and continued to imprison and torture practitioners who had completed their terms of imprisonment.

In April 2004, three practitioners were sent back to the Brainwashing Center from the forced labor camp. In the center, two people were assigned to stay with and monitor the practitioners 24 hours a day. Practitioners lost all freedom and their family members were not allowed to see them. They were forced to read material slandering Falun Gong and everyone was required to write essays condemning Dafa, take examinations, etc.

Ms. Zhang Jiexiu, in her 70's, is a Falun Gong practitioner in the Qili District of Lanzhou City. She had been abducted and sent to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center three times. The first two times, she was released from the center because her life was in danger and the staff feared being responsible for her death. However, after a short period, they abducted her again, taking her back to the brainwashing center. There she was hung up and tortured for over ten days continuously by these scoundrels, which caused her great pain. In a delirious state, she was forced to write the so-called "Three Statements".

Staff at the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center continue to brutally mistreat Falun Gong practitioners.
