Two Stories Told by a Cab Driver in China

(Clearwisdom.net) One day in June 2004, I took a cab to attend to some matters. In the cab, I clarified the truth to the driver. I asked him, "Do you know about Falun Gong?" He said, "I do." I did not go on with what I wanted to say. Instead, he himself took the initiative to tell me about Falun Gong. He told me that Falun Gong is really very good, and that it was Jiang Zemin, who out of jealousy, framed and slandered Falun Gong. Following that, he told me about two incidents that had happened around him.

In the first incident, his mom was sent to a detention center due to her involvement in a car accident. One kind-hearted police saw that his mom was quite old, so he arranged for her to be locked up in the same cell as detained Falun Gong practitioners. The moment that his mother stepped into the cell, she felt incomparably warm and cozy. Every practitioner was very peaceful and kind. They not only lent clothes to his mother, but they also helped her wash her clothes. They also clarified the truth about Falun Gong to his mother. After his mother was released, she was very grateful and said, "Falun Gong is not like what the television has said. Falun Gong practitioners are all very good. I also want to practice Falun Gong."

In the second incident, this cab driver had an ex-classmate who was a soldier stationed near Beijing. During the period when Falun Gong practitioners went to appeal in Beijing, Jiang's regime mobilized huge numbers of army officers and soldiers. Amongst them was his ex-classmate. His ex-classmate was personally present at the scene of the so-called "self-immolation incident." [1] He witnessed how Jiang's regime directed this tragedy in order to frame Falun Gong. This ex-classmate has felt indignant all along about this incident. Some time later, when this cab driver mentioned the "self-immolation incident," his ex-classmate said angrily, "Don't talk to me about this incident, you folks stay at home to watch television, and what can you see? All the programs have been edited and meddled with. In order to let you all not believe in Falun Gong and to forbid you all from practicing, they made up all kinds of fake documentaries, not to mention this minor incident of 'self-immolation'!"

[1] "Self-immolation incident": An incident framed by the Jiang's regime in which seven people burnt themselves, in two cases fatally, on January 23^rd, 2001. The people claimed that they were Falun Gong practitioners, and this event was used to fan hatred against Falun Gong. However, it was comprehensively proven later that the event was staged by the Jiang regime, though many Chinese people are still deceived by this incident.
