Li Jian Sentenced for 13 Years of Imprisonment for Exposing the Rape of Practitioner Ms. Wei Xingyan

(Clearwisdom.net) In June 2003, the police abducted Chongqing Falun Dafa practitioner Li Jian for the third time because he exposed the police rape of Miss Wei Xingyan, a practitioner in Chongqing University. In November 2003, The First Court of Chongqing City illegally sentenced Mr. Li Jian to 13 years of imprisonment. His relatives are not allowed to visit him. In fact, they still do not know where he is being held. More details of his story follow:

Mr. Li Jian, 40 years old, was a resident of Dazu County in Chongqing City. He was director of the Dazu Immunization Center. Near the end of 1999, he was persecuted because he appealed for Falun Dafa, and he was later detained in the Xishanping Labor Camp in Chongqing City. After unconditional release at the end of 2001, local police abducted him again for clarifying the truth to people, and he was later illegally sentenced to two years in forced labor camp. When he was on the way being sent to labor camp, he was able to get away with righteous thoughts.

After that, although Mr. Li Jian was forced to live away from home and have a difficult life, he still took initiative to clarify the truth to people on a larger scale. He was arrested again around June 21, 2003, and he was sent to the Xishanping Labor Camp and the Shibanpo Detention Center, both of which are in Chongqing City.

In June 2003, Mr. Li Jian was arrested the third time for exposing the police rape of Wei Xingyan, a student in Chongqing University. In November 2003, the First Court of Chongqing City illegally sentenced him to 13 years of imprisonment (in the absence of his family members or relatives). Li Jian's wife Yang Hongzhen went to court at once requesting to see him, but the court not only made various excuses prohibiting the visit, but also refused to tell her Li Jian's whereabouts. Li Jian's family do not know where he is, or what has happened to him. We hope people will help to find information about Li Jian, so that he can regain freedom soon.
