Seventy-Year-Old Mr. Peng Yunsheng Brutally Tortured in Anqiu City

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Peng Yunsheng, I am seventy-two years old, living in Guanzhuang Town, Anqiu City, Shandong Province. I began practicing Falun Gong in February 1999. On May 26, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong along with other practitioners, but we were arrested at the Appeals Office on the morning of May 28. The police forced me to go back to my hometown.

As soon as I arrived in my hometown and got out of the car, the Vice Supervisor of the town, Qi Yansheng, the Chief of the Forestry Station Zhang Ruiwen, Town Hall staffer Du Guifu and policemen Zheng Hongchang, Zhang Xiao Jin and Li Xinwen beat me to the ground, hitting my face hard and kicking me. Zhang Ruiwen and Du Guifu stomped on my legs and feet fiercely with their hard boots, while Qi was yelling at me, "We'll see if you dare to go to Beijing again!" I couldn't see straight and I lost consciousness. I have no idea how long they kept beating me. During the following one month and two days in detention, I was dragged into a room, where I lay on my stomach and didn't wake up until midnight. My body was black and blue and my legs and feet were bleeding. The various tortures I endured made my legs so swollen that I was unable to walk.

At 9 a.m. the next day, Zhang Ruiwen forced me to stand up, but I couldn't stand, so he grabbed my hair and slammed my head against the wall, causing my face to bleed and to be contaminated with dirt and whitewash. Zhang had someone bring several buckets of cold water and pour it on me using an iron ladle. Then he forced me to lie in the water on the ground, which made my clothes wet for three or four days. The abuse was not over yet. At midnight they would bang on the door and call out my name loudly. They have a rule of punishment for the jailed Falun Gong practitioners who were sent back from Beijing: severely beat the victims with birch switches thirty times first, confiscate the food brought by victims' family members and give them only a quarter of a dinner roll and a little bit of cold water for each meal.

In the summer heat of June, even though my legs were too swollen to walk, they made us run around the field a hundred times. During the hottest days, they forced us to pull weeds in the yard and made us stand still in a line to expose us to the sun. If we moved a little, they would beat us with birch switches.

The above account describes only a part of the tortures I suffered.
