Qinhuangdao practitioner Dong Junming has been missing from Shanhaiguan since early August 2004. It was later reported that a practitioner had been arrested by Division No. 1 of the Qinghuangdao Police Department, also known as the Qinghuangdao State Security Unit. Dong's family has not yet been notified.

Ms. Lu Shuzhen, in her fifties, is a practitioner in Dongli District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. She lives in the family quarters of a gas turbine engine factory. On August 13, 2004, she was at home alone when the head of the Daqing Road Police Station, led by an officer in charge of the neighborhood, broke in and abducted her to the police station. Liu Qinrong and Ms. Xu Ying are practitioners from Pusamiao Town in Donggang City, Liaoning Province. On August 11, 2004, they were spotted by informants while raising the public's awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong and arrested by police. The two practitioners were taken to the Piaozifang Police Station. Practitioner Teng Deping went to the police station, demanding the practitioners' release, and was also arrested. All three were transferred to Zhuanghe on August 13.

Shao Jianhui is a practitioner at Zhaili Village in Jinling Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. Late at night on August 14, 2004, officers from the town's police station came to Shao's home to place Shao under arrest. The charge for arrest is unknown.

Sun Jian, a practitioner of Shixin Town in Panshan County, Panjin City, Liaoning Province, was forced to leave home and become destitute by Cao Zhiyou, Head of the town's police station. In April 2004, Sun was arrested by police in Fuxin City, Liaoning Province. It took several months and much effort before Sun's family located Sun at the Fuxin City Detention Center. Detention center authorities, whose phone number is 86-418-2292153, have denied the family visitation rights.

On July 18, 2004, about ten practitioners from Fu'an City, Fujian Province carried truth-clarifying materials and CD's to the neighboring Changqi Village to raise public awareness about the persecution against Falun Gong. Informants alerted the police, and the practitioners were arrested on their way back. Five practitioners, Ms. Liu Luolin, Mr. Liu Jianguang, Ms. Huang Julan, Ms. Lian Ying, and Ms. Ying Lian, are currently in custody at the detention center.
