A Practitioner Clarifies the Truth at Her Father-in-law's Eightieth Birthday Celebration Banquet

(Clearwisdom.net) A back yard in the countryside of northern China was filled with merrymaking as Falun Dafa practitioner Li Shan (alias given to protect from retaliation by the authorities) joined in celebrating her father-in-law's eightieth birthday. Li Shan's brother-in-law was a locally renowned businessman, and his father's banquet was a most ostentatious and extravagant affair.

The son had hired a music band and called in a reporter from the local TV station. At the beginning of the banquet, the reporter interviewed the son, who later handed the microphone to Li Shan, with much respect, and said to more than 200 relatives and friends that "it is my sister-in-law Li Shan who should speak to us today. It is primarily her care of my parents that has enabled them to enjoy their happiness and health. Please welcome my sister-in-law to speak to all of us."

Li Shan is an honest and simple farmer who is only able to read very few Chinese characters. However, she seemed quite dignified and looked pretty when she got up to speak. Li Shan quietly took over the microphone, said with a Dafa disciple's benevolence and kindness to everybody, "What my brother-in-law said is true. However, I feel ashamed to tell you that previously I treated my parents-in-law without much respect. I had even gone to the village court to settle a dispute between my family and myself so that I could avoid taking care of my parents-in-law. However, when I learned the practice of Falun Gong, that all changed. Falun Gong made me understand about being kind to everyone, it has taught me how to show respect to my in-laws, how to become a good person and do good for others..." The TV reporter recorded the scene. Li Shan's heartfelt words made her brother-in-law's eyes brim with tears, and also moved many others to tears. Then, there was someone among the people crying out, "Li Shan, you deserve to be called Li Hongzhi's disciple. You dare to say the truth, and I admire you!"

Before the event, Li Shan invited several local practitioners to prepare several hundred copies of truth-clarifying material. During the banquet, fellow practitioners clarified the truth to the partygoers, and Li Shan handed out truth-clarifying material to everybody. Some people said, "Li Shan, could you give me several more copies so that I can share it with my family?" Li Shan satisfied people with more copies. The TV reporter could not wait to go into his car to read it. Although her brother-in-law was not a practitioner, he supported Li Shan very much since he saw how Dafa had changed her brought happiness to the whole family.

Before the banquet was over and people left for home, Li Shan's brother-in-law said to people loudly, "Remember, Falun Dafa is good!"
