Czech Republic: Appeals to Expose the Human Rights Abuses and Bring the Persecutors to Justice Receive Positive Media Coverage (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening before Czech Falun Gong practitioners were due to hold a peaceful appeal in Brno, a reporting team from a national TV station visited Brno's local Falun Gong practice site to film a short report. Although the subject of their program was eastern ways of healing and exercise, what they were most interested in was the violations of human rights against people who practice Falun Gong by the Jiang regime. After about twenty minutes, they left saying they would like to make special report on the persecution too. The program was screened on the next morning and people all over the Czech Republic could learn about practicing Falun Gong from national TV.

The appeal took place in the center of Brno. The weather turned a little cold but that was no obstacle for the practitioners' efforts to raise awareness about the persecution. Several thousand people got to know about the inhumane suppression against Falun Gong and the cruel methods of torture that the Chinese regime uses to make practitioners give up their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.

Some Czech people still remember the times when their country was under Communist control. They sympathized with people practicing Falun Gong in China and it was easy for them to understand the situation. As a result, about two hundred petition signatures were collected calling for an end to the persecution and for former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin and his followers to be brought to justice.

A reporter from the Czech Radio and Rovnost Equality News came to learn the facts about the persecution and about what results practitioners' activities have achieved. They heard about the many lawsuits launched all over the world against the Chinese authorities who are responsible for instigating and enforcing this persecution and they found out about the millions of Falun Gong practitioners who have been illegally arrested, detained and abused by Chinese police.

The reporter from Czech Radio went on to interview people in the crowd who were looking at the display boards describing the Chinese regime's torture methods. Their reactions were all very similar: "I can't believe it! It's shocking." "This is so terrible!" This news report was broadcast that same evening.

Interviewing people who learned about the persecution

As practitioners handed out flyers, they saw that many people already recognized the name of Falun Gong and came over to find out more. Many people were truly moved by the situation in China and expressed their sincere support for Czech practitioners' efforts to rescue their fellow practitioners.
