Practitioner Li Aiyun Died in 2001 from the Effects of Torture in Beijing's Xin'an Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Aiyun, 38, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Hanhaozhuang Village, Zhangshangying Township in Yanqing County, Beijing. In October 2000, she was watching a Falun Gong video-tape at home. Someone reported this to the police and she was arrested and sentenced to one year of forced labor. She was detained in the Xin'an Labor Camp in Beijing's Daxing District where she was tortured severely. She later developed symptoms of TB and was sent to a TB hospital. In January 2001, she was released on medical parole. On October 14, 2002 she passed away.

The Xin'an Labor Camp, now called Beijing Women's Labor Camp, has been a place where Dafa practitioners are severely persecuted. From July 2000 to July 2001, more than 1,000 practitioners were detained there. The guards forced practitioners to write a "guarantee letter" by cruelly torturing them. One practitioner who refused to write the letter was deprived of sleep for one month. They used many barbaric tortures such as electric shocking with multiple batons and all kinds of other physical punishment.

Ms. Guo Xuelian, an 18-year-old woman from Shandong Province, was detained there for several months, from the end of 2000 to early 2001. After repeated physical assaults, undisclosed medication and other extreme physical and mental torture, she became mentally traumatized.

Other practitioners also lost their lives in police custody in Yangqing County. After the 47- year-old Ms. Cui Fuer appealed for Falun Gong, the Yanqing County police fiendishly beat her and sent her to forced labor. Later she returned home so injured that she was confined to bed for many days. On August 3, 2003, she passed away.

Mr. Wu Simin, a 63-year-old practitioner, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on December 25, 2000. He was arrested and sent to a detention center in Yanqing where he was brutally beaten. He died on January 12, 2001.
