Making Use of All Opportunities to Clarify the Truth About Falun Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net) During the past five years of persecution, we Falun Dafa practitioners have all used different methods to let the people of the world understand that we are innocent and being wrongfully persecuted. We have distributed flyers, VCDs, posted information and hung up banners that clarify the truth about Falun Dafa.

In most instances I use the method of clarifying the truth face to face. After someone comes to understand the truth about Falun Dafa, I give them a flyer that explains the truth in a more in-depth way. I use different ways that people can understand, varying my approach according to the people I'm talking to, their different acceptance levels, different areas of interest, and clarify the truth in a patient and calm manner. Below are a few examples of how I clarify the truth.

Case 1: On the bus

During the summer of 2002, I was on my way home on public transportation after being out of town. The bus was very crowded. I gave up my seat to another person twice. The passengers all looked at me with curiosity. The bus started and I began to distribute three different truth-clarifying cards. I suddenly felt fear for no apparent reason. Then I recalled Master's words in "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston:"

"The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things."

A few minutes later my heart felt calm. I said loudly, "I practice Falun Gong. I have Falun Gong truth clarifying VCDs. Who wants one?" By then, many people in the bus stood up. They all reached out for the VCDs and cards. Then I started to answer the questions that they raised. After answering their questions the people in the bus smiled at me approvingly.

After returning home I read again the lecture that I recalled earlier. "You are cultivators, whose conduct is [supposed to be] pure and righteous. There are so many people who think you're great just by having seen how you act. If we don't pay attention to our own behavior in our daily lives, everyday people will see our actions and, since they can't get to know you at a deep level such as by studying the Fa, they will just look at how you act."

Case 2: While Walking

One day in the winter of 2003, on the way home, I met some old men who were safeguarding the road. I got off the bus and clarified the truth about Falun Gong to them. A passerby also stopped to listen to me. The passerby understood the truth about Falun Gong and asked me for a VCD that clarifies the truth about Falun Gong. The old men praised me and said that whatever I said made a lot of sense and they were sincerely convinced.

Case 3: While waiting for the bus to come

In the spring of 2004, I was waiting at the roadside for the bus to come. A man approached from the opposite direction. He was also waiting for the bus. I asked him where he lived and asked him what he thinks of Falun Gong. He seemed to have some understanding of Falun Gong. However, there were also areas about Falun Gong where he had misunderstandings. During the half-hour bus journey I answered all his questions. He said that he finally understood what Falun Gong is and the reason why so many people want to learn Falun Gong. He said that he has two truth-clarifying VCDs at home.

Case 4: Selling goods during a fair

On August 15, 2004, the Chinese lunar calendar, while I was selling goods, two women came up to me. One of them already understood the truth about Falun Gong but the other still did not understand. Should I clarify the truth? I was debating with myself in my mind. "In Fa-Rectification Your Thoughts Have to be Righteous, Not Human;" these words flashed across my mind. Then the women who understood the truth about Falun Gong said, "She is a Falun Gong practitioner. She will not deceive people." I carried on the topic of conversation and started to clarify the truth. The other woman's mind was very much poisoned by the media's negative propaganda. I answered every one of her questions. In the end she said, "Falun Gong is great, but isn't it time-consuming to practice the exercises?" I told her that I not only do my job well; I still have to do household chores. I used the time that others use for watching television to study the Falun Gong books and practice the exercises.

While clarifying the truth I met with some questions that I could not immediately answer. If I say things at too high a level, the other party may not believe what I say and this may have a negative impact. If I explain from too low a level, it is difficult to clarify things. In those instances I would use simple analogies to answer them. The result was very good. When I meet with people who like to make things difficult, I throw some questions back to them. Then I clarify the truth, step by step.

Let us make use of all opportunities where we interact with people to clarify the truth and offer sentient beings salvation.
