Persecution Cases at Baoding City Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ding Shumei from Zhangjiakou City is an elementary teacher in Gaoyang County. On August 10, 2005, she was illegally arrested and taken to the Baoding City Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Ding started a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and was sent to a hospital to be force-fed. Ms. Ding refused to cooperate with those who persecuted her. She was tortured by prisoners Yang Yirong and Tong Yanling, with the help of guards Shi Jiangxia and Fan Miaolu. Prisoner Yang Yirong brutally beat her, and used various torture methods to persecute her. This prisoner is very active in torturing practitioners held in the First Woman's Team and the Second Woman's Team of Baoding City Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Guilan is from Zhangjiakou City. Ms. Yang was brutally beaten after Teacher's articles were found at her home. Police officer Fan Miaolu shaved Ms. Yang's head to humiliate her, and also used various methods to torture her. Ms. Yang incurred wounds all over her body from the torture. In August, Ms. Yang suddenly fainted and was sent to a hospital emergency room. Ms. Yang suffers from anemia and she had only one third of the normal amount of blood in her system. Even on the verge of death, Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp still refused to release her and has threatened her family and asked for money.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Shufang was arrested and taken to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp on February 5, 2005. Ms. Wang conducted a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. The police beat her so badly that blood appeared in her urine. In fact, her entire body was injured, leaving her on the verge of death. Fearing that she might die at the labor camp, the camp let her company use an ambulance to take her away.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yuanzhen comes from Zaoqiang County, Hengshui Area. She was beaten badly by the police because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises. In August 2005 she was brutally beaten because she refused to wear a prison uniform. Female guards Tian Zili, Fan Miaolu, and others stripped her naked, and took her quilts away. One week later the guards instigated Yan Yirong (a prisoner) to drag her on the ground and brutally beat her. At one point, a guard said, "She is nearly dead. Do not continue to beat her." But Yan Yirong did not listen, and continued to kick her very hard with leather shoes. In September Liu Yuanzhen could not walk, nor could she take care of herself, but the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp still did not give her clothing or blankets.

On February 5, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Haitao was badly beaten by the police because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises. Two of her teeth were knocked out, and she was injured all over her body. A group of guards used electric batons to beat and shock her, using the batons so extensively that several electric batons were broken during the beatings. Guard Chang Junliang said, "Liu Haitao, I am telling you: this pair of leather shoes was brought to kick your Falun Gong." Eleven guards participated in the beatings, including Fang Bao, Zhang Jiwei, team leaders of the Second Woman Team, Shi Jiangxia and Li Yanji, Tian Zili and Fan Miaolu.
