Government Officials in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province Arrest at Least 16 Falun Gong Practitioners By a practitioner from Daqing City (Clearwisdom.net) In the early morning hours on Friday, September 23, 2005, a large number of Daqing City policemen in Heilongjiang Province were sent to arrest many Dafa practitioners. At least 16 practitioners from the city were arrested.
It started about five a.m. The Head of the Daqing Development Zone Police Sub-bureau led 7 to 8 policemen to break into the house of elderly Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao Guifen. She lived in the No. 10 Building of the Xueyuan Residential Area. The policemen cut her telephone line and disconnected her mobile phone to cut off all communication to the outside. They ransacked her house and confiscated her personal property. At about 10 a.m. the policemen took Ms. Gao Guifen, who is nearly 70 years old, to criminal detention. At the same time about a dozen policemen from the Dong'an Police Sub-bureau in Daqing City broke into the 5-25 Building in the Dongfeng New Residential Area. This was the home of Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Qingli. The police ransacked the house, confiscated her personal property and took her to criminal detention.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Guixiang from the Jingyuan Residential Area in Ranghu Road has been detained since autumn 2002. Ms. Yu and her husband Mr. Guan Zhaoqi, who is now detained at the Daqiang Prison, have been detained many times and often suffered physical and mental torture. Even after being released the police continued to harass her. She was forced to leave home to avoid arrest. At about 5 a.m. on September 23, 2005, policemen from the Ranghu Road Police Sub-bureau came to Ms. Yu's home. They pounded on the door and raised a terrible racket. Ms. Yu, after years of physical and mental abuse in prisons and labor camps, had a sudden heart attack and lost consciousness. Ms. Yu's son opened the door and the policemen swarmed into the house. They stalked out when they realized the situation and left Ms. Yu in critical condition. Ms. Yu is still in the No. 5 Ward of the Longnan Hospital where she was brought for emergency treatment.
Since the crackdown on Falun Gong began, practitioner Mr. Zheng Hongjun has persisted in his belief. As a result, he had to become homeless to avoid being arrested and persecuted. At around 5 o'clock on September 23, 2005, Mr. Zheng Hongjun was arrested at his mother's home in Babeishang.
At around 6 o'clock on September 23, a group of policemen from the Donghu Police Sub-bureau of Daqing City broke into the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners in the No. 8 and No. 9 Districts. They arrested five practitioners. The policemen came to Bai Yufu and Zhang Lixin's home and the couple refused to open the door. The police broke the door to get into the house. They ransacked the house, taking the computer and printer, Falun Gong materials and books. The police also broke into the house of Mr. Li Qingzuo and arrested him, his daughter Ms. Li Junmi and his daughter-in-law Ms. Jia Xianjun.
At the same time, the police from the Ranghu Road Police Sub-station arrested practitioners Ms. Chen Changxiu from the Yueyuan Residential Area in the Ranghu Road District, Ms. Li Shumei from the Leyuan Residential Area, Mr. and Ms. Yu from Xizai Residential Area. Meng Qingyun was arrested at home in the Changqing No. 2 Residential Area of Ranghu Road District. The police from the Longfengchang Police Sub-station arrested practitioners Liu Li and Feng Ying, from Longfengchang. Practitioner Ms. Lan Sufang from the No. 3 Oil Extracting Factory in Daqing City was also arrested.
