Central News Agency: Deputy CCP Jilin Provincial Secretary Lin Yanzhi Sued During His Visit to Canada

(Clearwisdom.net) Central News Agency reports on November 1, 2005, that Deputy CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Jilin Provincial Sectretary Lin Yanzhi, who is currently visiting Ottawa, Canada, was sued because he was the director of Jilin Province's 610 Office which is dedicated to suppressing Falun Gong practitioners. A Falun Gong practitioner who had suffered persecution in Jilin Province filed a lawsuit on October 28, 2005 with the Ontario Supreme Court against Lin Yanzhi for the crimes he has committed.

On October 28, Lin Yanzhi was sued by a Toronto Falun Gong practitioner who had been subjected to persecution. Lin's originally planned special topic speech sponsored by the Canadian Chinese Professionals Association was cancelled upon receiving a notice from the Chinese Consulate at Toronto. Sources pointed out that the Chinese Consulate's cancellation of Lin's speech had something to do with the lawsuit filed against him.

Lin Yanzhi followed his delegation to visit Ottawa. At noon on November 1, the delegation visited the Parliament. At the same time, a representative of the Canadian Falun Dafa Association, Li Xun, held a press conference at the Parliament to expose the crimes that Lin Yanzhi has committed in the persecution of Falun Gong. Since December 4, 2001, more than 100 Falun Gong practitioners were sent to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, which was directly ruled by Lin Yanzhi. Those practitioners suffered ruthless persecution. Statistics show that 321 people have died as a result of persecution in Jilin Province.

Mr. Li Xun pointed out that 321 practitioners in Jilin Province have died in the persecution of Falun Gong. Jilin Province's death toll due to the persecution of Falun Gong ranks fourth in China. Up to present, at least 2,766 Falun Gong practitioners were verified to have died from the persecution in China, and the death toll is still increasing.

Li Xun said that the Canadian Falun Dafa Association submitted a name list of CCP officials who have persecuted Falun Gong practitioners and committed crimes against humanity, to Canada's Immigration Department, Department of Justice, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The list included Lin Yanzhi. Practitioners request that these departments continue to uphold justice and bar these criminals from entering Canada.
