By a Dafa disciple in Huaibei

(Clearwisdom.net) My granddaughter had leukemia when she was two and a half years old. The first time she got sick she was hospitalized for six months, and it cost us 60,000 yuan. The second time she was hospitalized for nine months, and we spent 80,000 yuan.

She went through 14 courses of traditional Chinese herbal treatments in Xi'an, and we paid 1,200 yuan each time. It cost more than 10,000 yuan to buy medicine in Shanghai. She underwent chemotherapy every three months, and each time it cost us anywhere from 2,000 to 12,000 yuan. Altogether it cost us more than 200,000 yuan to treat her illness.

The child's condition was very serious. A normal person's white blood cell count is between 4,000 and 10,000, but my granddaughter had only 400. A healthy person has 100,000 to 300,000 blood platelets, but she had only 40,000. The whole family was very anxious, but no matter how much more money we spent, there was no guarantee that the treatments would be able to cure her. The hospital director and the doctors all told us that the girl's situation was very precarious. The doctor had sent out a written notice, listing the child as critically ill, and recommended the use of a special injectable medicine, each dose costing 700 yuan, and one dose would be required every day. I didn't agree with the doctor's opinion, and decided not to pay for the treatments.

I became a Falun Dafa practitioner in August 1998. Years later, after the family spent a fortune trying to save my granddaughter with traditional medical treatments, I finally realized that Dafa could save her. Therefore I read Teacher's book Zhuan Falun each day to my granddaughter in the hospital, and practiced the sitting meditation at her side.

After we had studied the Fa for four days, a miracle occurred.

In front of the doctor, the child could sing and dance, just like a healthy child. The doctor re-tested her blood, examining her white blood cell and blood platelet counts. It turned out that all was normal.

The doctor felt very strange. The chief nurse knew that Dafa had saved the child's life, and said, "Madam, it really helps that you practice Falun Gong."

She asked for a copy of Zhuan Falun.

Now the child has completed the sixth grade. During her summer vacation, she asked me, "Grandma, when can I go to the school broadcasting station [In China, many schools have a broadcasting station and use a powerful speaker to deliver school's notification, play exercise music during the morning exercise time, etc.] and use the speakers to tell all people that Falun Dafa is great?"

I told her, "That day will come soon."
