Falun Dafa at the Montreal Health Expo (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The second annual Montreal Health Expo was held from November 26 to November 27, 2005, in the Montreal Olympic Center. One hundred and forty organizations including Falun Dafa participated in the event.

Learning the truth about Falun Dafa

During the two days of the exhibition, a lot of people felt that the Falun Dafa booth was very special and very attractive. The organizer of the expo, Ms. Sylvie Bouchard, said that she was very interested in eastern culture and liked the concept of "heaven and human uniting in one body." She said she like Falun Gong's relaxation and serenity.

One visitor came to the Falun Gong booth and learned the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution. He immediately invited the Falun Gong practitioners to come to a club of local architects and businessmen so that more people could learn about Falun Gong.

Some people had already learned about the persecution of Falun Gong through the media. They said that the persecution was a crime and it was shameful to persecute such a peaceful and beautiful exercise system.

Many people looked at the Falun Dafa emblem for a long time. One elderly man looked at the Falun emblem and said, "What is this? It is spinning. I see that it has righteous energy. I feel happy and comfortable."

Some people were surprised when they heard that the teaching of Falun Gong was free. One man asked, "Is it just free for the first class? Is there a charge for the second class? I have learned other qigong exercises. They all charge a fee." A practitioner answered, "Falun Gong exercise teaching is free all the time. The main book of Falun Gong, Zhuan Falun, teaches students to follow Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Our Teacher has told us to teach the exercises voluntarily and free of charge. Otherwise, one is not considered a Falun Gong practitioner." The man said with respect, "You are practicing Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance."

One middle-aged man took a music CD from the table but he didn't know whether it was for sale or for free. All three practitioners behind the table were talking to other visitors. So he picked up one, hesitated and put it down, picked it up again and put down again. A practitioner noticed him and approached him. The man said, "Falun Gong is very good." The practitioner told him the CD was free and gave him one in English. He didn't leave and his eyes focused on another one in French. So the practitioner gave him a French CD as well as the Falun Dafa introduction and truth-clarification materials in French. The man left satisfied.

When the two-day health expo was about to end, many participants from other booths came to learn about Falun Gong and took truth-clarification materials. The attendant at a nearby booth came to pick some materials for her customers. When they saw that the TV was playing Teacher's exercise teaching video, they stopped talking and went over to learn the movements in front of the TV.

A Falun Dafa practitioner who helped in preparing the booth and the exhibition, said, "People here are paying a lot of attention to life and health and they like healthy food and a healthy lifestyle. They are also interested in spiritual things. The exhibition gives them more opportunities to hear, see and know about Falun Dafa, which is such a beneficial practice for mind and body."
