(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday December 17, 2005, practitioners held an activity in the main square of Rimavska Sobota, a small town in the mid-south of Slovakia, to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, as well as the violations of basic human rights and freedom, which the Chinese communist regime inflicts upon its own people.

The activity received attention from the media. A cameraman from the local TV station filmed practitioners in front of banners and information describing tortures used in the persecution, which contrasted highly with the peaceful exercises performed by Falun Gong practitioners nearby. The reporter from a local newspaper also stopped by and took materials so that he could write an article about the event.

For many people it was almost incomprehensible that a regime could persecute innocent people like this. They expressed their sympathy by signing a petition condemning the persecution.
