How Shiliping Forced Labor Camp Guards Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners

Enticed by promotions and economic benefits, all the 610 Office personnel in Zhejiang Province and many guards from the Shiliping Forced Labor Camp cruelly persecute Falun Gong practitioners. While this article exposes some of the brutal persecution against practitioners taking place in Shiliping Forced Labor Camp, it is only the tip of the iceberg.

Between 2000 and 2003, the Shiliping Forced Labor Camp guards persecuted illegally detained, steadfast practitioners from Zhejiang Province by using electric batons, the water dungeon, force feeding them with hot chili water, the tiger bench, suspending them in the air and beating them, and confining them in a small cell. Practitioners were deprived of sleep for five days and nights at a time. Since they were also prohibited from using the bathroom, they had to soil their pants. Some practitioners were locked in a cell less than 10 square meters. They were bound to a chair and were illuminated by a spotlight for several days and nights with a loudspeaker next to their ear at over 80 decibels. Practitioners were tortured until they became very weak and developed many kinds of diseases. Practitioners Zhu Changmin, Xiang Xianping, Fan Zebin, Peng Xiaodong, Huang Guanghui, and Song Chenggang were all physically tortured in a most cruel and painful manner. For example, Mr. Fan Zebin, an elderly farmer from Jinyun County, was hung from an iron door for 15 hours, causing injury to his hands and feet. He still has scars to this day.

Mr. Jiang Jialin from Longquan City was suspended from a window by his arms that were tied behind his back. Only the tip of one foot was allowed to barely touch the floor. After five days and nights, his hands and feet became swollen with thick blisters on the skin. Practitioner Zhu Hongmai from the Quhua Group in Zhejiang Province was detained and beaten. Practitioner Mr. Guo Xianwen from Yuhuan County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, was detained in solitary confinement for a long time. He was force fed because he was on a hunger strike. After August 2003, he was detained alone for over nine months in a small cell, where he was spiritually tortured and threatened. His body is completely swollen and his life has been in danger more than once.

At the beginning of 2004, practitioners Zhu Zuoxin and Jiang Xiaoshen were detained separately. Guard Mou Zhongming from the No. 4 group in the labor camp pasted a picture of a nude woman next to Zhu Zuoxin's bed. Guard Li Hongqing forced practitioners Jiang Xiaoshen and others to get up in the middle of the night to watch a pornographic video.

In July 2004, some practitioners who did not give up cultivation were locked in a small cell only over 10 square meters and were prohibited from seeing sunlight all day.

It was very hot in the summer of 2004. The police ordered practitioners to stand on the playground and walk in formation for several hours. The pavement was blistering hot under the fiery sun. The practitioners sweated out all their fluids, and their sweat-drenched clothing dried, leaving white salt stains.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Jianbo from Zhejiang Province, 30 years old, who moved from Xiantao City, Hubei Province, is an ex-graduate student from Zhejiang Industry University. Mr. Zhang was on a hunger strike for 49 days in the labor camp and in life-threatening condition more than once. Mr. Zhang Jianbo's family members reportedly went to the labor camp to try to visit him but were refused by the labor camp officials.
