By an ordinary citizen in China

(Clearwisdom.net) My son suffered from a high fever continuously during the summer of 2004. Doctors at the city hospital had adhered to conventional treatment of flu and pneumonia; however, his illness got worse day by day. On August 17, my husband and I took him to the Wuhan City Children's Hospital for a series of tests. They concluded on September 15 that our child was suffering from a form of meningitis. Cases like his were rarely seen in China, and the prognosis was extremely poor. The medical costs could run as high as hundreds of thousands of yuan. Upon hearing this, our entire family was shocked beyond description.

Holding onto our last hope, my husband and I took our son to Beijing by train. We arrived at the Beijing Children's Hospital.

Throughout the eighty-eight days of treatment there, our son lost consciousness for days at a time, first on September 11 and again on October 20. The doctors had no choice but to operate on him, yet his condition continued to deteriorate. At the end, the director of that section persuaded us to take him back home. We returned home in despair on November 26. We could not sit back and let him suffer, so we took him to another hospital for treatment just to alleviate the pain as much as possible. One week later, our son pulled out the PIU tube implanted in his body. He could not take injections anymore and had to leave the hospital. Having no other recourse, we took him back to my mother's home.

My mother is a Falun Gong practitioner. She firmly believes in "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance" and has been practicing Falun Gong for eight years. She suggested that I practice Falun Dafa with my son. So I started playing Falun Dafa tape cassettes and reading Zhuan Falun to him every day. One week later, a miracle happened. He gradually regained a clear mind, and he started to talk and take in liquid food. He has been getting better as every day passes. He has tried to get out of bed and begun to walk.

As the Chinese New Year's Day approaches, please allow me to express my appreciation and say "thank you" to Teacher Li Hongzhi from the bottom of my heart. Let me thank Teacher, who has brought Falun Dafa to people around the world.
