Latvia: Appealing for an Immediate End to the Persecution at the Chinese Embassy (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net)On the afternoon of February 4, 2005, Latvian Falun Gong practitioners gathered at the Chinese Embassy to appeal for an immediate end to the inhumane persecution happening to Falun Gong practitioners in China. Between 200,000 and 1 million have been illegally sent to forced labor camps without trials, and human rights workers have documented over 38,000 specific cases of torture or severe abuse.

Practitioners held banners in English reading, "Falun Gong Teaches Truth, Compassion, Tolerance", "Torture is used on Falun Gong Practitioners in China" and a banner in Latvian reading "Stop the Killing in China". At the same time they told passers-by how Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party are responsible for at least 1343 deaths of Falun Gong practitioners through police abuse and torture, with government sources inside China indicating that the actual number could be has high as 7,000 or more.


The biggest news agency in the Baltic Sea area, the BNS Communication Centre, reported on this activity.
